Role Summary
The Corporate Affairs Manager is responsible for developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies with regulators and other stakeholders with a view to ensuring a stable and predictable operating environment. The position holder is responsible to harness relationships with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders with a view to promoting and maintain the company’s reputation. He/she is also expected to provide support in the promotion of CSR projects in a manner that ensures sustainability and achievement of business objectives. The incumbent of this position is also responsible to give strategic guidance on internal and external communications.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design and execute a communications and engagement strategy with regulators ( at Federal & Regional level) and other stakeholders to secure a stable and predictable operating environment
Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, and lead engagement with them on a diverse range on company and industry related issues.
Develop and maintain effective networks and enhance relationships with stakeholders;
Identifying and prioritizing emerging issues and handling them in a timely manner
Plan, manage and execute public relations strategic plan to promote the corporate brand;
Manage reputation, identifying and mitigating issues that may concern the company in advance, and managing and reporting on complaints received by the company;
Anticipate, manage and coordinate responses to issues that hold the potential to affect the company’s image and reputation;
Advise and guide the business regarding external/internal threats and opportunities and create strategies to protect, enhance and/or accelerate business strategies;
Play an important part in the day to day management of operational issues which may have reputational impacts.
Maintaining a sound, overarching corporate governance and reputational risk management strategy for the organisation to ensure the highest level of accountability in the organisation’s decision making processes.
Design and implement a crises management plan
Initiating, managing and delivering a corporate communications strategy to develop and maintain the organization's reputation;
Develop and deliver targeted communications and Stakeholder engagement strategies and plans in support of the company’s key business objectives;
Act as company spokesperson and build a corporate profile by developing and executing a comprehensive external communications plan;
Develop and execute a comprehensive organizational communications strategy to facilitate the achievement of defined company objectives;
Provide strategic guidance on the management of internal communications and develop media strategies and key messaging as appropriate.
Support senior management in press engagement activities;
Assist the department director in the formulation of policies and procedures;
Design systems and processes in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness;
Performs other tasks assigned to him/her by the department director
BA degree on corporate affaris, corporate communications, public affairs, business administration and communications and another related field of study
6 years of experience as corporate affairs manager in corporations
