• To assist, coordinate and implement events acquisition activities of Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa administratively and otherwise. 

• To, implement, maximize and monitor activities of the Rooms & Catering Department, so as to secure new and repeat business for the hotel, thereby supporting to meet and exceed the projected revenue goals of the department.

• To create event proposals which fit guests requirements and presenting proposals by deadline.

• Maintaining a working relationship with vendors and venues.

• Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list.

• Demonstrating superior product knowledge of the hotel, competing hotels and taking guests on tours of venue possibilities.

• Coordinating event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers.

• Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors.

• To maintain a perpetual analysis of key accounts in the Addis Ababa market.  To have a thorough knowledge of competitive marketing, business strategies in the Addis market and of competitive cities and destinations outside Addis Ababa for specific business segments.

• To obtain and maintain an awareness of community, business, political and social factors which may affect the Hotel’s financial objectives.

Job Requirements

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Hospitality/Tourism management or Marketing Management.

• Minimum 2 years work experience in hotel operations, sales coordinator or related positions

• Good customer service, communications and interpersonal skills are a must.
