Medical Team International is looking for qualified applicant for the Data Entry Clerk position

Job Summary

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) are essential in the design and implementation of Medical Teams International’s programs.  The primary role of the Data Entry Clerk is to work directly with the Medical Coordinator, MEAL Officer and program staff to ensure collection and data entry of high-quality MEAL information at the field level. The Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for inputting the daily data into the established tracking system and assisting the Medical Coordinator in completing both internal and external reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties

Monitoring & Evaluation:

  • Support program staff in M&E data collection using tools for planning, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning in line with Medical Teams policies and standards

  • Input the daily data collected by the Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams into the required database so it is available for reports

  • Input the weekly data collected by the Health System Strengthening and Community Health teams into the required database so it is available for reports

  • Monitor implementation of systems, processes and tools ensuring quality and consistency in M&E collection and reporting

  • Provide support in survey sampling and development of electronic data collection

  • Complete routine internal and external reports for review by the Medical Coordinator, including 5W reports, Regional Health Bureau reports, and other data needed for monitoring of program and reporting to donors

  • Summarize data collected from surveys and project activities

  • Precisely compile data to ensure that the collected data is accurate and maintains the integrity of the project

  • Assist with beneficiary interviews, focus group discussions, patient satisfaction surveys and quality improvement visits to the project sites as required with the Medical Coordinator

  • Aid in compiling project monitoring data into internal and external reports reflecting activity indicators to guide decision making, provide accountability to beneficiaries and stakeholders, share learning, and demonstrate impact

Accountability:

  • Ensure data storage and systems for sharing are set up to protect confidentiality of personally identifying beneficiary data and adhere to generally accepted principles for data protection.

  • Support safeguarding of program participants and personnel through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, and Child & Vulnerable Adult protection policies and sexual harassment policies

  • Contribute to the establishment of an effective complaints, accountability, and response mechanism to enhance feedback, trust and confidence with beneficiaries

Learning:

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborates with Medical Teams staff in North Gonder for data sharing, reporting, and quality improvement

  • Coordinate with M&E counterparts in other organizations and information management working groups

Place of of Work: Maycadera

Required Number:-One(1), dependant upon funding.

Work Days & Hours: Monday-Friday, 40-48 hours/week, occasional weekends and public holidays.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTFICATION

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Statistics, Social Work or other related field

EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years professional experience after qualification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of development & humanitarian issues and concepts

  • Fluent spoken and written Amharic and English.

  • Strong interpersonal and team skills 

  • Proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations

  • Excellent communicator

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

  • Negotiation and representation skills

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Computer literate, able to work efficiently in Microsoft office on standard or mobile platforms.  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

  • This position requires occasional travel to health facilities located in remote areas with very basic living conditions.
