The Hunger Project (THP) is a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. THP believes in a world where every woman, man and child can lead a healthy, fulfilling life of self-reliance and dignity; and works towards that goal by pioneering sustainable strategies for gender-focused and Integrated Community Led Development, which is the process of working together to create and achieve locally owned visions and goals. THP-E is implementing projects in rural areas of Ethiopia since 2004 and currently recruiting full time staff for the position:
Job Summary
The Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer (MELO) reports to the Country Manager and is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of THP-E projects including baseline data collection, periodic reports, annual planning, and final evaluations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and/or strengthen monitoring and evaluation procedures of THP-E.
Recommend improvements of the M&E framework of project proposals.
Develop monitoring and impact indicators to measure the success of projects.
Monitor all THP-E projects’ activities, expenditures, and progress towards achieving the planned output.
Provide inputs, information, and statistics for quarterly, annual, and other reports.
Participate in annual project reviews and planning meetings and assist Project Managers/Officers in preparing good quality reports.
Provide feedback to Program & Project Managers/Officers on project strategies and activities to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the project.
Report quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project’s activities.
Coordinate all baseline assessments and mid-term and final evaluations of THP-E projects to determine impact of the projects.
Perform other duties as required by the Country Manager.
Term of Employment: One year, with a possibility of extension
Required Number: One
Education
Minimum of second level university degree in M&E, statistics, demographics, public policy, international development, economics or related field.
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in an M&E position responsible for implementing M&E activities and working in CSO setting.
Languages
Excellent written and spoken command of English and Amharic.
Competencies
Knowledge of rural development and rights-based approaches, and skills in computer applications, indicator tracking & reporting, and managing database systems.
