EXTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Addis Ababa University, School of Public Health wants to hire competent Professionals for the following administrative positions. Therefore, you are kindly invited to Apply, if you qualify, as per the procedure mentioned below.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the general supervision of the : Human Resource and Development team leader, handles recruitment, selection, placement, transfers, promotion, compensation, performance management, disciplinary actions and staff training; follows-up and implements organization HRM policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates and assists supervisor in human resource and succession planning of the organization
Reviews internal and external vacancy announcements and submits for approval
Facilitates and coordinates initial screening of internal and external applicants and ensures that the short listing is properly processed as per criteria and procedures of the organization ;
Arranges and organizes competence ratings, written examinations, interview sessions and reference checks of the project staffs recruitment
Records and keeps minutes of recruitment and promotion process; notifies selected applicants
Prepares personnel action forms including employment, transfer, termination, promotion and salary increment ;amends records as required
Organizes orientation and induction programs for new recruits;
Designs training need assessment(TNA) questionnaire that supports human capacity building programs;
Conducts training need assessment ,compiles data gathered, prepares training programs, schedules and implements;
Carries out pre and post training evaluation by developing appropriate tools to ensure fulfillment of training objectives
Administers leave, checks and calculates leave balances; processes disciplinary measures in cases of absence and lateness;
Applies and interprets organization HRM policy and procedures in compliance with the civil service and other applicable Laws;
Provides information and handles enquiries of staff at all levels , councils staff to assist in solving difficulties associated with work;
Examines and resolves staff problems in areas such as absenteeism and grievances;
Prepares and submits periodic performance reports for academic staffs evaluation ;
Performs other related duties as required.

MA /BA in human Resource Management/ Management or related
Experience
3/5 years of relevant experience
COMPETENCIES
Good knowledge of HRM principles and practices
Good knowledge of the civil service and organization HRM policies and procedures
Knowledge of induction and training coordination
Knowledge of governing directives
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Basic computer software application ability
