Job Description

Sintec Ethiopia Plc is searching for an applicant with the following position criteria.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The accounting and finance service director is responsible for the overall accounting activities and financial management of SINTEC-ETHIOPIA PLC.

  • Oversees and manages daily accounting and financial functions including the timely recording of transactions, cash flow management, bank transaction handling (OD, bank accounts, bank statement, etc.), payroll, inventory, receivables and payables, cost allocation and budget control;

  • Maintains banking relations and monitor each cash flow requirements to ensure the smooth implementation of the objectives and programs of the company.

  • Provides standard accounting submissions whenever needed, including general files, account reconciliations, expenditures by cost, required reports, as well as other financial information in a timely and accurate manner;

  • Examines and analyse accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards;

  • Ensure that computation of tax owed and tax returns, and gives directions concerning compliance with payments, reporting and other tax requirements;

  • Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations in order to project future revenues and expenses, and provides effective advice when needed;

  • Gives instructions for undertaking regular and surprise cash on hand check and count, asks for reports on the finding, and seek recommendations for possible remedial actions in case of violation of petty cash rules;

  • Controls back account balances and reports when the balance is low so as to take the necessary action before checks are written;

  • Prepares financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual), and organizes the supporting documents in the manner required;

  • Contributes in preparing annual financial plan and budget for all activities taking into account the financial resource allocation efforts of the Company;

  • Undertakes other related activities as instructed by his/her immediate supervisor.

Employment type: Full time/Permanent with probation period of Ninety days

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • MA/MBA or BA Degree in Accounting and Finance.

  • 12/14 years of relevant work experience for MA/MBA or BA holders respectively, out of which 5 years must be in managerial position.
