Job Description
Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) is national NGO and not for profit humanitarian organization established in accordance with the charities and societies proclamation No 621/2009 and re registered under the 1113/2019 revised proclamation. ASDEPO is implementing currently various projects in Oromiya, SNNPR, Somali, Gambella, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar, Tigray and Amhara regions. To meet its objectives ASDEPO calls for competent professionals to apply for the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL Officer) vacant post.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop Project plans
Develop and or compile reports for different end users such as government, and ASDEPO Semera Branch Office
Develop MEL Plan for the project
Generate data (tables/graphs/reports) from the data sources at regular intervals, ensuring reports/information are available for project implementation staff when required. Facilitate data analysis with project implementation team as requested
Supports the production of progress update of the project/portfolio of projects or one specific large project
Analyze plan versus achievements of the project and identify justifications for under achievements or over achievements.
Analyze achievement against budget and advise project staff on cost effectiveness
Organizing field monitoring and evaluation to program sites;
Assists field staff particularly front line staff in developing regular data collection format, in field supervision, and database maintaining, analyzing and interpreting data and ensuring forward accountability to the community and learning;
Assists the project staff in understanding activity/output project level data;
Compiles regular field monitoring report including lessons and provide feedback for the program and his/her supervisor;
Participates on project performance review meeting at Woreda level as required and evaluation exercises;
Collects and provides information and technical support in the preparation of reports and
Ensure the implementation of project M&E plans/framework.
Ensures consistency of information in different reports
Participates in the formulation and revision of different reports and plans
Regularly communicate with the head office MEL Department/Unit for field level tasks
Focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.
Involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.
Take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.
Listen and speak effectively and honestly, demonstrating integrity and act in line with our vision and values.

Location: Berhale, Dallol and Erbeti woreda of zone 2 Afar Region
Type of Employment: Contract, Initially for three month with possibility of extension
Number of post: Two
Qualification
BA Degree in relevant fields such as Statistics, Economics, Management, Public Health, Development and other related fields of study
Two years M&E Experience
Fluent in both spoken and written Afar languages with good knowledge of English
Good understanding and skills at data management
