MEPO Contracting & Management Services PLC is a member Company of MIDROC INVESTMENT GROUP and established in December 2008 by the renowned investor Sheik Mohammed H. Ali Al-Amoudi. The Company has been engaged in the supply of construction materials, rental of construction equipment & construction of buildings. 

We invite qualified applicant for the following vacant position:

Summary of duty & Responsibility

The position typically reports directly to the Project Manager. Directly responsible for the actual supervision of construction of civil / architectural /structural and earthworks.

Duties & Responsibility:

  • The Project coordination, support & follow-up Section head will coordinate and check the preparation in close discussion with the project on daily (24hrs) project status report and makes consultations with the Department Director by identifying;

The status of assigned and/or required resources:

  • The status of Down equipment and machinery

  • Required materials and equipment pending for delivery: purchase, delivery and logistics conditions

  • Labor status: on leave or terminated

  • Key materials available stock balance: cement, rebar, fuel, oil & lubricants

Status of key and critical activities performed:

  • Status and location of key activities performed (on progress/stopped)

  • Status and quantity of precast or cast in situ activities performed

  • Status and working hours for crushing activities and production of borrow or quarry materials

  • Status of preparatory activities for commencement of new project activities or work sections

The daily budgeted cost and actual cost of the works performed including the financial progress of the works

  • The follow up and execution contract administration of the project in relation to the operation or execution of the works including: Technical design issues(proposals), records(contemporary), approvals of works and designs, testing of construction materials, possession of site (for spoil areas, camp construction, ROW, quarries, detour & borrow), working drawing preparations, work orders/ instructions, payments (advance, interim, retention and others), sub contract activities, tripartite meetings & etc.

  • Prepare work schedules and action plans (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) for the execution of the projects in due consultation with the project managers and engineering department manager.

  • Assist and direct all project activities as per the action plans of the projects;

  • Preparation and follow up of sub contract payments (works or service) assigned on the projects;

  • Follow the preparation and submission of the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress of the projects and make evaluation of the reports.

  • Initial and manage the preparations of monthly payment certificates, advance payments, advance replenishment(installment) documents, final payments for projects and submission to consultants and clients and follow up of effect of payments,

  • Direct and assist in the investigation and testing (central labs) of local construction materials, approval of samples, preparation of surveying readings and setting out data, design, quantity takeoff, preparation of working drawings and as built drawings;

  • Attend tripartite management meetings of projects when directed by the engineering department manager;

  • Plan, initiate and coordinate the demands for purchasing of materials, service and auxiliary equipment and machineries including the hire of equipment and/or machineries (when directed by the department manager) for the execution of projects;

  • Initiate the employment, shift and termination of direct professionals, technicians, foremen, surveyors and assistants for the execution of the projects in due consultation with the engineering department manager;

  • Prepare work execution performance evaluation for Project Managers as per the stipulated requirements using the HR manual or formats;

  • Coordinate and follow-up of EHS (Environmental, health and Safety) provisions as per the standards of the company and the required specifications of the projects in due consultation with the projects’ safety officers and the head office safety officer.

  • Prepares and gets approval of objective plan for the implementation of the projects action plan on monthly basis;

  • Conduct & maintain regular site visits to projects (Minimum of two times per month or as deemed necessary and must be supported by reports) to evaluate and assist in:

    • if the project activities are undergoing as per the plan,

    • if resources are assigned as per the requirements, appropriateness, utilization and compatibility,

    • if the quality of works is met and for managerial assistance and support to the projects

  • Organize and coordinate project closeout, handover and acceptance in due consultation with the department manager and other concerned departments of the company;

  • Other duties given by the Department Manager.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • MSC/BSC in Civil /COTM/Engineering 

Work Experience :

  • At  least 6/8 years or above experience. 

License:

  • Grade – Professional License above II

Computer Literate:

  • Auto Cad  software knowledgeable

  • Excel and word knowledgeable

  • MS-Project

Language:

  • Good English communication skills both written and spoken.
