Job Summary

The Data Science Officer is responsible for assisting the process of data mining and analysis and integrating data from various sources and availing a high-quality data pipeline. In addition, the jobholder is responsible for participating in the design of advanced analytical models within a banking context.          

Job Requirements

Academic & Professional Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information System, Software Engineering or any other equivalent field

Experience

• At least four (4) years’ experience of advanced database administration experience with a large scale SQL Servers in multi-node clustered environments including replication and security

Required Technical Competency

• Familiar with challenges related to unstructured data analytics.

• Ability to translate / reflect the bank’s business behavior into structured information.

• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

• Ability to apply GDPR and privacy policy.

• Ability capture, storage, analyze, data sets, that are complex and large, not structured and in different formats

• Experience in working with Data Engineering Tools.

• Strong understanding of data models, structures, theories, principles, and practices.

• Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and forecasting.

• Direct experience with data management techniques.

• Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.

• Familiarity with relational, SQL and No SQL databases.

• Fluency with at least one scripting language

• Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources

• Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches

• Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.

• Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.

• Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

• Extensive experience in systems and storage capacity management, maintenance, forecasting and lifecycle planning focused on business requirements.

• Hands-on knowledge of configuration management tools.

• Experience in VMware virtualization design, build and administration.

• Experience with SQL administration and SQL toolsets.

• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
