Job Description

Legal Officers are responsible for monitoring all legal affairs within their organization. They handle both internal and external legal concerns, and are tasked with doing everything in their power to keep their organization out of legal trouble

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • They research for, interpret and study cases to represent their clients in a variety of settings such as courts and administrative boards.

  • They create arguments on behalf of their clients for lawsuits in different contexts with the aim of finding a legal remedy.

  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues

  • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization

  • Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.)

  • Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before documents are executed.

Job Requirements:

• Education: LLB in Law
• Experience: Not required but those who have experience are encouraged to apply
• Preferably those who can speak and write Affan Oromo language are encouraged to apply.

Competencies:
• Knowledge of insurance business
• Knowledge of commercial codes
• Knowledge of court proceedings
• Knowledge of the techniques of litigation
• Ability to litigate minor cases
• Ability to draw up simple legal documents
