Job Description

Under the general guidance of the Program Director, the incumbent is responsible for the overall coordination, planning, development, and management of resource mobilization including business development strategy to mobilize resources in advancing organizational sufficiency and sustainability. S/he is responsible for gathering and analyzing information in the external environment on available resources and leading organizational efforts at accessing those resources.

 A.     RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS  :

  1. Developing and implementing FGAE’s overall resource mobilization strategy and framework focusing on bilateral and unilateral agencies, the private sector, private individuals, local sources, and government;

  2. Lead the team in developing and managing new businesses in line with approved legislation guiding the establishment of business by not-for-profit organizations;

  3. Direct all efforts at bridging the wide gap between resources from donors and local resources to strengthen organizational financial sustainability;

  4. Provide leadership and supervision to FGAE resource mobilization team for all resource mobilization activities, establishing work plans and budgets and monitoring implementation;

  5. Create, cultivate, build, manage and maintain FGAE relationships with donors, the private sector, academic institutions, government and philanthropists to facilitate in-flow of resources to FGAE

  6. Contribute technical inputs to the development and implementation of FGAE Investment strategy and portfolio, give advice and follow to monitor performance and results;

  7. Manage, monitor and evaluate the resource mobilization strategy and efforts of FGAE  and the coordinating unit on-going performance and quality of outputs and services, identifying and initiating actions for improvements and innovation;

  8. Provide regular management reports with analysis and comment on resource mobilization performance and result;

  9. Oversee the promotional activities for resource mobilization with particular attention to the dissemination of FGAE capability, activities and success stories;

  10. Produce materials and tools to support resource mobilization efforts;

  11. Organize occasional meetings with donors, development partners and the private sector to provide update on FGAE activities and performance and solicit for financial, technical and material support on sustainable basis;

  12. Produce a directory and mapping of donors and international development partners to inform FGAE resource mobilization planning, approaches and efforts;

  13. Work with relevant units and staff on the message, products and processes to be used in approaching potential donors;

  14. Build the capacity of staff and volunteers in resource mobilization;

  15. Provide guidance and direction for planning, implementation, research and analysis of resource mobilization and building high value partnerships and corporate alliances with international and local partners;

  16. Represent FGAE in meeting with partners to advocate, promote and publicize FGAE program, capacity and capability;

  17. Develop and manage a Business Development Unit with capacity to design and provide specialized/consultancy services in program management, research, organizational development etc to prospective clients;

  18. Identify different ways of doing of business, mapping of potential donors, organizations etc and initiate project proposal to solicit funds;

  19. Link programs and financial activities by developing standardized costing and charging systems in collaboration with the Program Support Services to guide planning and resource distribution in FGAE;

  20. Advice and support Area Offices on effective resource mobilization initiatives and approaches from obtaining resources from local partners and communities;

  21. Facilitate the periodic review of existing ,revitalization and application of core tools, in all Area Offices as Cost Revenue Analysis and Cost Benefit Analysis and advice the management and area offices on future course of action ;

  22. Prepare periodic progress reports and undertake periodic management reviews of the effectiveness of FGAE marketing strategy and approach;

  23. Design and implement an effective and functional system for tracking and maintaining records of resources mobilized, the contributors/sources, and providing update to resource providers on utilization of such resources;

  24. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification in Relevant Field of Study:-MA/MSc/MBA:-  In Public health, or project management or health informatics or health management, or economics, Management, or Marketing or Business Administration and related studies

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:-  5 years of  which must have a minimum (3) years experience after Master degree , shall posses with extensive practical experience in the Health/Business sector with 2 years experience at middle level management

Desirable:- Previous extensive experience NGO in  Resource Mobilization and business development for SRH projects is a required .Computer skill in relevant  software is desired
