Job Description

There are 4 core project activities being implemented

  • Evaluation of registered firms for apprenticeship matching program

  • Facilitating Interview b/n selected firms and trained youth for potential apprenticeship matching.

  • Organizing Final list of matched firms and trained youth

  • Evaluation of apprenticeship program through visitation of matched firms for the duration of the apprenticeship program 

The Project Manager will have the overall responsibility of managing project team comprised of 11 project officers to be assigned in respective sub-cities. Thus, we are looking for a qualified candidate to lead project activities as a Project Manager.

The Project manager will give strategic guidance to the implementation of core activities and will work with management to achieve planned objectives of the project. The Project manager will represent Info Mind Solutions at every level on various communications and engagements with stakeholders. She/he will maintain effective liaison and working relationship with the appointed Project team and stakeholder representatives. The Project Manager is responsible to report to Info Mind Solution management team.

Key Tasks and responsibilities

A. Planning

  • In consultation with Info mind Solutions (IMS) team, review and prepare the project’s work plan and budget.

  • Manage monthly work plans for project logistics and activities, identifying and responding to the implications of interdependencies between different sub-project work stream activities.

B. Implementation

  • Develop a method of assessing the performance of the project regarding registered firm evaluation, matching process and apprentice program evaluation

  • Ensure that project activities are implemented and outputs achieved as planned and within the developed schedule.

  • Review progress regularly and submit internal progress review reports outlining progress, issues and actions being taken in the standard format.

  • Organize a monthly project progress review session with Ministry of Labor skills project team, appointed project officers and stakeholders.

  • Proactively identify and monitor any risks to delivery and develop action plans to address issues identified.

C. Financial Management

  • Manage the project within the agreed budget, apply value for money and resource in decision making.

  • Implement method of assessing resource utilization in the project and career centers for the possible optimum result.

  • Implement internal project financial controls, ensuring that resource management in the career centers follows and exceeds the basic standards.

D. Team Leadership

  • The project manager will be responsible to lead a team of project officers in carrying out project activities.

  • Hold monthly project team meetings and send minutes and key action points to IMS management team.

  • Provide leadership and motivation to his/her project team building a values-based team working and individual staff skills relevant to the project.

  • Regularly provide both informal and formal coaching and feedback to project team

  • Effectively and promptly deal with any poor performance and actively recognize and encourage strong performance

  • Actively seek feedback on own performance and effectiveness from both IMS leadership as well as regional project team.

  • Hold in-person supervision sessions with project team at least once per month to discuss progress against their project targets

E. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • The project manager will be responsible to implement a project monitoring and evaluation process for all project activities that meets the basic internal monitoring and outcome reporting requirements.

  • Ensure the project is collecting organized information/data of all project activities

  • Ensure that the project is regularly conducting trained youth and firm related surveys, collecting other data through relevant sources and developing case studies.

  • Oversee all project evaluation processes ensuring that learning and recommendations from those evaluations are explicitly incorporated into the project’s future implementation activity.

F. Communication

  • The Project Manager will be the contact person all communications regarding the project with all stakeholders

  • The project manager is responsible for deploying efficient and standard communication channel with project team, Stakeholders and IMS management.

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • Master degree in leadership, Management, and Social Science Fields.

  • At least 7 years direct experience in leadership position providing program management and technical assistance.

  • Experience in planning and implementation of M&E activities.

  • Experience in career development project activities

  • Experience in government stakeholder management activities

  • Experience in taking leadership role for project implementation and working in teams in a collaborative and consultative manner.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills--demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse target group

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines in a timely way with attention to detail and quality.

  • Excellent English written and oral communication, as well as basic computer skills.
