Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful development of the project's procedures as well as the guidance of the project team's operations toward achieving all the agreed-upon project goals within the set scope, time, quality, and budget standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manages project resources:

  • Manages all project resources: Finance, HR, machinery, Material including spare parts and fuel.

  • Makes sure that all staffs are clear about project objective and expected deliverables, scope of works, quality requirement, time and cost of execution and risks embedded in each

  • Analyzes and determines daily operational status (operational, down, idle hours) of main construction equipment, such as dozer, grader, dump trucks… and discus the same with project team, and report to Engineering Department in the form and manner agreed in advance.

  • Analyzes and determines the performances of project crews and/or individuals, equipment, and material; and compare the outcomes with the base/standard considered in the plans. Where identified, work on ways of enhancing productivities of resources;

  • Ensures optimal usage, integration and productivity of resources: Finance, HR, machinery, material, etc.

  • Determines and present performance evaluation and other related reports on daily, weekly and monthly bases to the Engineering Department.

  •  Manages project planning, monitoring, controlling and documentation tasks:

  • Conducts Project Planning and Scheduling

  • Ensures harmony and collaboration among project team during work program preparation;

  • Defines activities and corresponding methods of work, considering quality requirement, duration, type of resource available; 

  • Estimates quantities of the works, productivities of resources, corresponding numbers and durations required, and costs of executions (budget and cash in-out flows) in collaboration with resource holding functions;

  • As required or found necessary prepares schedules divided into Six weeks look ahead plan, months, weeks and even days depending on the need for execution and monitoring;

  • Ensures the preparation of method statements and/or plans for activities required by the contract or engineer’s instruction. This includes mobilization plan, quality assurance and control, safety, health, and environment protection/mitigation.

  • When necessary updates project schedules to catch up with back-logs; or prepare as instructed by the Engineering Department.

  • Monitors and controls project executions respective to base plan

  • Monitors and controls the executions of construction activities to assure that inputs and methods of production/process of deliverables are in conformance with lines, levels, grades, and quality requirements;

  • Ensure as applicable and a time frame, preparations of measurement/payment certificate in the form provided or approved by the engineer’s representative and submit timely and obtain approval.   Submit the approved payment certificates within time to the head office Payment Affairs Department for collection purpose.

  • Follow-up the efficiency and status of key construction activities where excavation, embankment, sub-base, base, structure are in progress;

  • Monitors and control key project success criteria: scope, time, cost, quality, risk, contact, etc. 

  • Reports and documentation:

  • Continuously maintains up to date project progress data or monitoring and controlling result;7

  • Prepares periodic reports that depict past, present status and future plans/schedules and recommendations regarding construction activities, resources and contract major and critical issues to help making decisions and/or get information by the users of the report. Assure timely submission of periodic reports to the head office and other stakeholders;

  • Project team management:

  • Builds and maintains competent and committed teams;

  • Facilitates cross functional team activities for coordinated and timely action or mitigate barriers and enhance team commitment to project objective.

  • Engage and maximize project team’s productivity and contributions; 

  • Implements policies and procedures compliance:

  • Ensures the implementation and compliance of company and regulatory rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Any other works assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Education

  • BSc in Civil Engineering or Construction Management  

Work Experience

  • 12-15 years’ experience  and working as PM 6 to 8 years

Language

  • Good English communication skills both written and spoken

License

  • Professional License is Mandatory

Computer Literate:

  • Auto Cad  software knowledgeable

  • Excel and word knowledgeable

  • MS-Project 

Additional Special Skills:

  • He/she have to be the most knowledgeable person regarding the project.
