Job Description

We are looking for a Project Communication Manager who has detailed knowledge of communications, content creation, event management, communication material development, stakeholder engagement, networking, professional writing in both English and Amharic, digital marketing, and social media.

Purpose of the Job:

  • To lead the external communication activities of the T/WASH project

  • To adapt PSI Ethiopia’s external communication strategy to the T/WASH project

  • To lead the content creation process for the T/WASH project

Key Result Areas:

  • Communication and public relation programs management (e.g. events, media advertising)

  • Communication and promotional materials design and preparation (e.g. website)

  • Digital marketing (e.g. e-marketing campaigns, e-newsletter)

  • Media management (e.g. public releases, media relations, speech, social media)

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     Project Communication

  • Develop and implement project-specific communications and public relations programs comprising content creation for print, digital events, and tracking their effectiveness.

  • Plan and execute communication activities to reach T/WASH’s external audiences

  • Develop T/WASH’s communication strategy and oversee the implementation of the strategy

  • Develop a content plan to capture, develop and disseminate content to T/WASH’s external audiences

  • Develop content creation and dissemination process to ensure the quality and effectiveness of content.

  • Liaise with the global communication team to share communication materials that will be featured on PSI Global website

  • Develop a digital communication strategy to disseminate learnings, best practices, blogs, articles, and case studies (eg: PSI-E social media platforms, PSI Global website…)

  • Documentation of learning and dissemination of TWASH activities

  • Prepare different communication materials that will be used at different events/ platforms

  • Organize platform to share learning and out of T/WASH activities

  • Develop different communication messages in line with different platform/ events thematic areas and T/WASH change objectives and priorities in consultation with WASH management teams.

  • Proactively lead the T/WASH communication group, closely work with consortium partners communication focal persons

2.       Stakeholder Management

  • Plan and lead stakeholder engagement with T/WASH’s consortium members to align communication priorities.

  • Coordinate and lead TWASH consortium partners and build strong partnerships with stakeholders including government, and media

  • Engage with T/WASH’s consortium members to organize events for external stakeholders.

  • Engage government stakeholders to ensure alignment of communication priorities between T/WASH and key government stakeholders (eg: FMoH, Ministry of Water and Energy, Ministry of Labor and Skills…)

Your background

What are we looking for? The basics

  • Master’s degree in communication, journalism, business administration, marketing, Law or any other related field in social science with at least four (4) years of demonstrated experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, business administration, marketing, Law or any other related field in social science with at least six (6) years of demonstrated experience.

  • Proficient in MS office applications and graphic design tools

  • Proficient in English and Amharic languages, both written and verbal communication

  • Proficient in content writing and editing in both English and Amharic
