Job Description
Junior accountant's duties include posting journal entries, updating financial statements, maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable, paying monthly payroll, and preparing financial reports. A junior accountant is supervised by a senior accountant or accounting manager
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries.
Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, cheque and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation.
Prepare income tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
Analyze financial information and prepare balance sheets.
Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and federal and state regulations.
Complete end of month close procedures
Prepare journal entries, and complete general ledger operations
Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, draw up monthly financial reports
Prepare analysis of accounts as requested, and assist with year-end closings
Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable, prepare tax computations and returns
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts and payroll administrations
Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
Do others assigned by the operations and administrative manager.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Economics or related fields with relevant work experience
