Brooke Ethiopia is looking for a competent consulting firm/agents/individual consultant to translate a manual/guideline entitled ‘’Community for Animals (C4A); a facilitator guide to community-based approaches’’ from English into Amharic and Oromifa.

Expected text volume to be translated

Texts for translation are full content of manual /guideline including acknowledgment, five chapters, annexes, definitions of key terms, and sessional-focused messages under each chart and pictures titles. The original manual/guideline has 410 pages in English.

The primary responsibility of the consulting firm/agency/Individual is to translate the said manual/guideline materials into the mentioned local languages so that this e-resource can be used as human behavior change and community development. 

Job Requirements

Eligibility: the translation firm/Agency/Individual is expected to demonstrate the following essential qualifications:

• Experience in developing, and translating materials for government, NGO, INGO and other agencies preferably in the area of animal husbandry management, animal health service and relevant tasks.

• At least 5 years hands-on experience in technical translation in multiple sectors and various clients, preferably in the area of animal husbandry management, animal health educational and extension materials would be an asset.

• Sample of previously created or translated content connected to animal husbandry, community development and animal health sectors.

• Translation firms/Agent should be familiar with the format and standard style used by the organization: i.e., font style, font size, and line & paragraph spacing.

• Shortlisted consultancy firms will be invited for interview before final selection.
