To this end, the company would like to appoint a Research Fellow at Frontieri.
About the position
The Research Fellow will develop technical proposals for rigorous policy-oriented research on issues related to agricultural growth and productivity, rural development, climate change and its impacts, thereby providing the interface between available expertise and rural peoples’ and practitioners’ needs for development.
Emphasis will be given to developing winning technical and consultancy proposals that are meant to address agricultural, social, and economic problems that society faces through partnership with practitioners and other stakeholders to serve the priorities and needs of rural people and the wider society PhD in a pertinent field in the social or biological sciences. The Research Fellow will work with researchers from Frontieri PLC and stakeholders.
General Duties and Responsibilities of the Research Fellow:
Produce winning research and consultancy proposals in collaboration with other teams under the SMDAD;
Design appropriate research methodologies and tools for various projects;
Produce quality research reports;
Produce working papers, and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals and Frontieri outlets
(Insights, policy briefs etc.)
Forge partnership with international research and consulting firms to submit proposals and implement research projects;
Develop innovative approaches such as new techniques as deems necessary to achieve the objectives of the research;
Work with other staffs to assess and identify technical assistance needs with regard to technical skills, supervision support, etc. for new and ongoing projects;
Follow up and effectively implement projects with the highest quality, agreed timeline, and approved budget;
Represent Frontieri at meetings and conferences;
Participates in the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned;
Follow-up clients to ensure client satisfaction; contribute towards a remarkable service excellence and establishment of a long lasting client relationship;
Develop research proposals for relevant research grants;
Work closely with other divisions and teams of Frontieri;
Prepare monthly plans and performance reports;
Ensure confidentiality of all reports and proposals;
Make sure that organizational core values, policies and procedures are clearly understood and adhered to in the daily functioning, and
Handle all other activities as required by the immediate supervisor

Qualification, and Experience:
PhD in Extension and rural Development, Economics (Pure), Education, Development and Gender studies, Marketing (marketing strategy) and related fields with relevant work experience
An MSc degree with additional professional experience and skills will be considered.
12 years and above in relevant offices/projects/institutions;
Proven track record of excellent writing and reporting skills.
Strong track record of research and publications in relevant areas.
Excellent leadership skills to promote effective collaboration within teams and across partner
Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
Regional and international experience is valued
Advanced skill and knowledge in quantitative and qualitative research, advanced skills in analytical software (STATA, SAS, SPSS, R, E-Views, GIS, GPS, NVIVO, MAXQDA, ATLAS.ti)
Experience in working on large-scale surveys.
Solid experience in data management and data analytics, project management, and survey management.
Demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality research for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
Ability to work in a team spirit with problem-solving and decision-making traits.
