ZOA, as an international NGO, supports people who have lost everything due to armed conflict or natural disaster. The work of ZOA is coordinated from the Netherlands. We are active in multiple countries in Africa, South America, the Middle East Region, and Asia. Project Manager

ZOA’s programme in Ethiopia

ZOA works in several regions in Ethiopia: Gambella Regional State (field office in  Gambella Town), Somali Regional State (field office in Dolo Ado and Melkadida refugee camp), Tigray Regional State (field office in Shire and Mekelle), Oromia Regional State (field office in Harar), Amhara and Addis Ababa. In Ethiopia, ZOA works with Internally Displaced People (IDPs), host populations, persons with disabilities, returnees, and a large population of refugees who fled a combination of violence and drought in Somalia, South Sudan and Eritrea.

Your challenge 

The project Manager  have the overall responsibilities on the We are Able project implementation in the target sub-cities in collaboration with consortium partners staff and relevant local government structures.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Prepare Work Plans for the implementation of project activities in consultation with the Area Manager and Consortium Coordinator against the timeframe in the areaFollow up and manage the overall implementation of the planned project activities of ZOA in Addis Ababa project areaCommunicate and collaborate with all line stakeholders and consortium member organizations as per the required standards of the ZOAReview reports and submit to the respective government bodies such as: BoFED, signatory bureaus, etc. after the review made by the senior programe leadersClosely work together with the project team, consortium partners and the government stakeholders to ensure the project sustainability, ownership and effectiveness as per the intended objectives of the programmeCompile reports and project documents and upload on the right online and office archives of the organizationOrganize and lead the consortium programme taskforce considering the governance structure of the consortium (as a lead organization) and communicate reports, recorded feedbacks and minutes properly to the respective officialsAssess and track the status of the programme and related issues such as: staff, project issues, etc. using project issue log and other M&E toolsFollow up and mentor the project staff including the Officers and other volunteer staffsConduct a weekly-basis project review (financial, physical, etc.) with the project team as well as with the senior programme team in a regularly manner.Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the programme based on the predetermined objectives and standard.Produce project reports and submit to the respective consortium team/MEAL officer as per the requiered quality and schedules.    Support the capacity building initiatives of organization of persons with disabilities and ensure their effective participation in the projectsRepresent ZOA/consortium in different government and non-governmental platforms

Therefore, we provide 40% hardship allowance to ZOA employees working in Gambella, Dollo Ado and Shire field offices.Transfer Allowance: We provide transfer allowance of 10,000 ETB If, in case of you permanently shift or transfer to a new programme area.3.     Paid LeaveWe recognize you have priorities outside of work.Our flexible paid time off package gives you the flexibility you need.Annual Leave: 20 days of annual leave in addition to public holidays, and you are also granted one extra day for each extra full year. Enhanced Maternity Leave provision, 4 monthsPaternity Leave 5 working days.Rest and Recuperation (R&R): We provide you 5 working days for every consecutive 12 weeks of work R&R leave to unaccompanied staff who work away from their permanent place of residence to spend time with their family. Therefore, ZOA provides R&R leave for its employees who work in the program offices in Somali, Gambela, and Tigray regions.4.    Insurance Provident Fund  + Pension: : 32% (22% from ZOA and 10% from You.

 Medical Insurance: We also covers your dependents, and your medical expenditures are covered by ZOA up to 100% of each invoice, up to a defined maximum refunded amount of Br 200,000 ETB  per annum. 5.    WellnessWe care about your health and wellbeing. Job Requirements

Qualification & Experience:

  • BA or Masters’ degree in social science fields; Social work, psychology, social psychology, social anthropology, social science, project management, development studies & etc.

  • A short/long term project management training certificates are also considered as an advantage  

 Experience:      

  • At least five years’ experience for BA holders and 3 years’ experience for MA holders

  • Proven experience working on disability inclusion programs

  • Experience working on consortium projects is advantageous

  • Experience working in an NGO atmosphere  

 Required skills:

  • Basic Computer skills

  • English language (very good in speaking and writing,)

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Perform additional assignments from the project manager as required.
