Your role....
Priority tasks & responsibilities
Lead the initial assessment of families of potential child participants
Facilitate the preparation of a family’s first family development plan (FDP)
Support co-workers of the community-based partner(s) in their work with families
Support monitoring & evaluation of the project
Support SACCOs and CBOs in establishing standard operation and management procedures,
Train SACCO management members in operational and management practices of micro-finance,
Work with and coach volunteers supporting families, CBOs and SACCOs
Encourage and support SACCOs record all transactions on monthly basis,
Assess private sector partners and facilitate linkage to youth entrepreneurs and job seekers
Prepare periodical reports and provide analysis and recommendation timly
Ensure and follow up on the procurement of program inputs
Facilitate assessments for the establishment/strengthening of SACCOs and CBOs
Assist on identifying institutions, resources, individuals, agencies and BDS providers to offer training programs and products, training expertise, saving and cooperative knowledge and services,
Periodically collect institutional, financial, and operational data and prepare reliable and standard report on SACCOs and CBOs
Produce case and success stories and share to the line supervisor every quarter,
Perform other assignments as requested by his/her supervisor.
Education
BA degree in Economics, Rural Development, Cooperatives Management and /or other related fields
Experience
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in international NGOs
Competencies – knowledge, skills, abilities
Proven experience in facilitation and community mobilization skills
Technical and report writing skills
Fluent spoken and written English: Fluency in at least one of the languages spoken in the program’s target area is a plus
Experience in Monitoring, evaluation and reporting is an advantage
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate
Fluent in at least one of the languages spoken in the program’s target communities (Oromifa)
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Awareness and basic understanding of issues affecting orphans & vulnerable children
Computer Literate
Understanding of child development issues, including knowledge of child rights, child protection, child welfare, childcare and parenting; and relevant local and national laws, regulations and protocols.
Good analytical and reporting skills, including ability to identify problems and possible solutions, and ability to clearly reflect these in a report.
Collaboration skills, being driven to work with others and able to build strong working relationships community members and groups.
Hands on experience on food security projects, youth empowerment, Value chain, SACCO/VSLA models
Good monitoring, evaluation and reporting skill
