Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Lilliane Fonds Program Officer ,the Project Officer is responsible for Planning, Organizing, Directing and Coordinating the overall Mobilization, Identification, and Assessment of trainees, Skill Training, Employment, Lobby and Advocacy of youth with disability for Community Based Training (CBT) and TVET trainings.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts mobilization, identification and assessment of youth with disabilities for community based skill training (CBT) and TVET training by closely working with stakeholders CE partners in the project area.
Establishes proper tracing and tracking system of youth trainees through utilizing assessment forms.
Arranges orientation and guidance for the selected youth trainees. selected by ECDD
Collects stories of youth with disabilities using Participative Narrative Inquiry (PNI) formats.
Identifies youth trainees who need assistive devices and facilitate provision according to their need.
Identifies and select community based skill training (CBT) providers/crafts men. with ECDD employable project assistant coordinator.
Facilitates community based training (CBT) for youth selected by ECDD.
Makes close supervision to youth with disabilities in training, self employment and wage employment after training.
Facilitates Work places for the youth with disabilities who completed skill training in collaboration with local stakeholders in the project area.
Initiates partnership between TVET institutions, employers, and government authorities for on job training and internships.
Facilitates disability inclusive employment and accessibility audit training for stakeholders CE-partners in the project area.
Participates in experience sharing/ forum/ meetings of partners in the project area.
Participates in CE partners exposure visit to ECDD model TVETs
Facilitates business skills training to graduates for self employment.
Facilitates awareness training micro and small enterprise office in the target area for accessing financial services for youth with disabilities.
Facilitates self and wage employment opportunities for trained youth with disabilities
Organize and promote lobby and advocacy activities for the stakeholders and the community at large on causes of disability and rights of persons with disabilities.
Organize and support lobby and advocacy groups in the project areas.
Works closely with ECDD assistant project coordinator on activities of the employable project for achieving better result.
Provides report and information to LF- Capacity Building Officer program officer on implementation of the employable project on regular basis.
Follows up and monitor implementation of overall employable project activities based on the designed plan.
Prepares monthly and quarterly performance report on the employable project and submit on time to the LF- Capacity Building Officer program officer.
Documents the beneficiary information/ data, success stories and best practices.
Undertakes other related activities as may be assigned by his immediate supervisor, LF- Program Officer and Program Director.
Qualification
BA degree in sociology, social work , Public health , Project management and related fields.
Experience
5 year relevant experience
Required Skills
Knowledge of managing and coordination of project planning
