Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Planning
Prepare drafts/ToR for activities implementation (background, methodology, objectives, results, activities, BoQ, Monitoring and post monitoring table linked to result framework) and send it to sector head/APM/PM and field work supervisors
Support to prepare weekly activity planning, movement plan with the PM and APM. Contribute to weekly meetings
Compile weekly report and submit them to the PM
When requested by the PM, prepare a detailed physical and financial monthly plan according to the format provided by the PM and submit it to PM 10 days before the end of the month;
Provide any support required by the PM in drafting the M&E plan for the project according to Log Frames
Anticipate challenges in project implementation, identify solutions and work with the team in problem solving
Support in the preparation of the agreement with the regions
b) Implementation
Report any managerial issues in the activities implementation to the PM, APM Report any technical issue to PM, APM or advisors as required
Ensure implementation of project activities. Lead in the provision of technical support on your field of expertise and actively facilitate the implementation of the project activities (Conduct campaigns to raise awareness on gender issues and on the risks and alternatives to irregular migration and available services for returnees, IDPs and migrants, Guarantee the mobilization, registration and verification of beneficiaries, organize and Guarantee the preparation and distribution of assistance (WASH) kits at the sites, collect all menses of verification, update local authorities about project implementation activities at site level.
Update and report for works completed linking with the field work supervisor, PM and program coordinator
Complete the technical sheet and deliver to the sector heads/APM/PM each week
Assist EDRMC on how to mainstream gender and bring women in to the decision-making
Support baseline, midterm monitoring, post-monitoring survey, end-line surveys and all data collection required for activities implementation and reporting,
Stay on the project implementation site and spend much time as possible with the beneficiaries to increase quality of the implementation and understanding of the context
Give translation service when required
To make proper use and taking care of COOPI properties under your control
c) Reporting
Give the daily report to the field work supervisors and PM
Actively participating to weekly meeting called by the PM and APM
Draft/inform the PM and APM on activities accomplishment including implementation data as requested (Monthly, interim, final, ad hoc, etc).
Share an updated file including service delivery by Humanitarian partners, beneficiary updates and camp information to the field work supervisor and PM.
Share lessons learned and success stories for future programming.
d) External Coordination
Attend coordination meetings at site level as requested by the PM and share key points.
Support the organization of internal and donors’ visits to the project sites liaising with the PM
Support approval of agreements with the regions and required MoU with local authorities
Active participation in relevant technical working group, NGOs and Gov.t at site levels as requested by the PM and share key points (no decision level is granted in stakeholders coordination meetings).
e) Project development
Regularly collect information at sites level (baseline need assessment, gaps)
Propose activities and project ideas and share them to the PM and advisory group
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.\
BSc or Diploma in Health science, Sociology, psychology, cooperative, or related fields
A minimum of four years of relevant working experience with government or NGOs in health education, sanitation and hygiene promotion, psycho social support and related tasks is essential
Proven capacity to work in a team and ability to transmit information to beneficiaries is essential
Experience in liaising with governmental/local authorities, IOs and NGOs and ability to collaborate with woreda and kebele
Demonstrated ability to work in stressful environments and under pressure.
Fluency in Amharic and other national languages in use
Good knowledge of English
Computer literate, with excellent command of Microsoft Excel.
Duration of the contract: six months possible extension
