Job Description

The Project Coordinator of the Food Security, Livelihood, and WaSH Support Project for drought-affected communities in Moyale and Hudet Woredas of Dawa Zone, Somali Region, Ethiopia, will be being responsible and accountable for the formulation, designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation of ASDEPO supported emergency program, with a special focus on Food Security, Livelihood and WaSH and response. This work will be undertaken within the context of the broader ASDEPO’s intervention scope, with a particular emphasis on responses related to livelihood and food security humanitarian crises.

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinates selection of project beneficiaries and the proper distribution of the support items, materials, and cash along with other relevant partners and stakeholders.

  • Facilitates all processes of training to be undertaken as per the plan of the project.

  • Leads preparation of ongoing situation reports, and periodic updates by compiling and analyzing data on the livelihood and food security of the communities and also related information on the overall performance of the intervention in the target areas including preparation of written documents to share information on effective program planning, development, and management.

  • Undertakes regular field visits to project areas to assess the local conditions related to livelihood and food security of the communities as well as to monitor the project progress

  • Collect information concerning performance of the project; identify problems, challenges and constraints to make sure effective project service delivery

  • Design, prepare, jointly monitor and evaluate performance of the project along with relevant partners, stakeholders including the Government counterparts.

  • Participate in meetings of coordination forums, local authorities, donors and other actors to discuss on issues related to livelihood and food security representing ASDEPO.

  • Conduct regular monitoring; analyze and evaluate the findings to ensure successful achievement of project objectives and also to take timely corrective measures.

Location: Moyale and Hudet woredas of Somali Region

Type of Employment: Contract, Initially for Six month with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • BSc/DVM or above Degree in relevant fields such as Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Plant Science and other related fields of study with a minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Sex: Male/Female
