Position Summary

A Driver's main responsibility is to safely transport either cargo or passengers from one location to another. They must follow traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring that there is always enough gas in the tank for their destination. Drivers will take care of maintenance on interior cleanliness before arriving where needed by time constraints set out within an organization requirement

Main duties and responsibilities

• Pick up clients from the place and at the time they’ve requested

• Collect payments 

• Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders 

• Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues 

• Assist clients with loading and unloading their luggage 

• Complete pre- and post-trip safety and operations checklists and documentation 

• Assist with regular vehicle inspections, arranging maintenance when necessary

• Refuel vehicles and ensure they’re always ready for use

• Follow company health & Safety rules 

• Respect the community living in the project area

Duty station: - Benshangul Gumuz, Asosa Zone, Kurmuk Woreda Project Site

Job Requirements

Qualification and Skills 

• A high school diploma

• Three to four years’ experience in projects 

• Good communications skills and ability to work as part of a team 

• A valid driver’s license 

• Experience in off road driving and mining projects 

• A clean driving records 

• Familiarity with GPS devices

• A polite and professional disposition 

• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour) 

• Additional skill will be preferable 

• Trained in defence driving techniques
