Main Duties

• Assists the Pump Man / Derrickman in his duties as and when required.

• To help and assist the Rig Mechanics and Electricians in their duties as and when required.

• To help organize the lease hands in daily housekeeping  

• Carry out regular checks and preparation of all Drill floor handing tools and equipment.

• To maintain daily checks of all Drill floor hand tools.

• Assists in the mobilization, unloading, erection and commissioning of the drilling rig

• Forklift driving for the loading and unloading of site deliveries and equipment.

• Assist the Site Coordinator in his daily tasks.

• To maintain the Drill floor equipment in a clean and tidy order and to report any defects to the Driller.

• Carries out tasks on the drilling rig floor and around the rig site to the instruction of the Driller or Assistant Driller in a safe manner.

• Participates in pre-operational meetings and weekly crew safety meetings and in BOP drills, fire drills and any evacuation drills.

• Assists in nippling up and down BOP systems and pressure testing.

• Assists the Driller to maintain good housekeeping on the rig floor and around the drilling rig.

• Assists in ensuring equipment is ready for use, cleaned after use and stored appropriately on the drilling rig.

• Immediately informs the Driller of any issue that may affect safety or environmental protection.

• Ensures all Health, Safety & Environmental procedures are adhered to

General

• Promote teamwork on the Rig.

• Must have demonstrable experience of English language, Reading, Writing

Job Requirements

Qualifications and experience required for this role:

• TVET level 4 in pipe handling, casing and drilling equipment on the drill floor as well as carrying out maintenance on the equipment

• Have experience of working under pressure.

• Previous experience of working in an environment of this nature
