 ·       MSF Holland is looking for: Counselor Educator (Strong preference for female candidate)

 ·       Number of Position:  One (1)·       Place of work: Weldiya·       Terms of employment:  One Month with possibility of extension ·       Remuneration and Benefits:-          Starting gross salary/month: 17,926.00 ETB-          Hardship allowance 30% cape 5,377.80.00-          Medical Coverage As per the MSF health policy·       Date of  application: 10 November – 13 November, 2022

 Main Purpose 

Perform counseling and/or education sessions to patients, following different medical and mental health MSF protocols and procedures, in order to improve their pychosocial condition.

 

 Accountabilities

•  Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic and administrative needs for patients

• Actively promote the availability of counselling services and carry out, individual or in group counseling, basic psycho educational sessions, to patients, their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.

• Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary in order to propose the best support available.

• Participate in the creation of any material needed for counseling activities and look after it,

• Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with other counselors, preserving confidentiality

• Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.

• Take active part in trainings, supervisions/intervisions and support the activities manager when necessary in doing sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.

• Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with supervisor.

 MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities Working under the supervision of the Mental Health Supervisor, the counsellor will work in the mobile health team to deliver mental health services to a population affected by recent conflict. Required skills in addition to those described above, and specific to this context:·       Sensitize, solve problems, dialogue and mediate with the wider population about issues of war, torture, trauma and SGBV·       Junior counselor(BA/BSC degree in psychology, psychiatry Nursing, social work)NB: Female applicants are strongly preferable 

Job Requirements

 Requirements  EducationCounseling, social work, psychology or other similar degree/diploma.Experience1 year experience essential.
