Job Description
The Ohio State Global One Health (GOH LLC) is an affiliate entity of The Ohio State University working extensively on a range of One Health-related and system building projects over the past 12 years. The GOH LLC has been working with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus and other stakeholders to strengthen the national health system capacity to prevent, detect and respond to various health threats through building surveillance, laboratory and workforce capacity in Ethiopia.

Line of responsibility – The grant manager will primarily report directly to the Business Director and to the Technical Director as required.
Position’s Summary:
The grant manager is expected to work closely with technical, procurement, finance, and program managers. The Grant manager is responsible for the management of specific project grants, financial/ grant quality controls, work with technical team in developing reports, and ensuring grants and financial information are provided accurately.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure the given projects are implemented in compliance with OSU-GOH LLC and sponsor rules and regulations.
Collaborate and work with the OSU-GOHi/ GOH team on a grant proposal, and submission process, monitoring grant applications, and maintaining a master calendar of grants and prospects and all associated files and correspondence.
Planning and implementing grant programs, and preparing budgets, collaborating with the Program/ project managers and technical leaders on a work plan to develop budget. Review and finalize the budget with the Business Director before submission.
Review and ensure monthly reports in all expenditures are appropriately categorized according to the budget, budget allocations, shared cost, FTE allocations, and grant money is used according to the operational, and financial needs within the allowable cost of the program, and report back to finance with updates and feedback before the preparations of monthly Invoices.
Budget data entry to Power BI and QuickBooks, and lead preparation of the monthly reports – using grant management and accounting software
Ensure smooth project closure of all grants – report grants that are ending, follow up for any cost
extension and deadlines report to management.
Collaborate with the M&E, technical, and admin teams to develop regular reports for sponsored projects, Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO), Ministry of Finance Ministry of Health, and other government as needed.
Ensure appropriation of cost of 80/20 rules as per Ethiopian government.
Responsible for the management of Grants and related financial documents, following up on grant files and updates with work plan, budget, grant contract, and agreement, and maintaining a proper
filing/storing system that ensures documents can be retrieved with ease.
Other assignments provided by directors.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or Finance recognized professional certificate in accounting such as ACCA.
Required Experience
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Extensive experience in working with (international sponsor) grants management, computerized accounting systems, and standard spreadsheet and database programs.
Experienced in preparing sponsor reports, budget preparation, and subgrant management in an NGO setting is advantageous.
Experience in accounting processes and treasury management– payment processing, transaction recording, mapping, cash management, reconciling, generating reports, and analysis.
Adjunct Skills Required
Good written and verbal skills in the English language. Ability to communicate well in English
Ability to maintain accuracy, attention to details and meeting deadlines
Operating Excel, Word, and Access are required. Advance Knowledge of QuickBooks system and/or other accounting software is advantageous.
Project management and good communication skills.
Budgeting and accounting experience.
Knowledge of auditing policies.
Knowledge of donor agencies.
Ability to carry out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support from within the organization. Ability to work in a demanding environment.
Must be a patient and good communicator who can function in an organizational environment involving a diversity of cultures, languages, and personal interests and agendas.
Good at the role of facilitator and a team player in solving problems.
