Job Description

Commissioned by BMZ, the Global Programme “Sustainability and Value Added in Agricultural Supply Chains” (the programme) promotes sustainability in global supply chains. In Ethiopia, the programme is implementing activities in the supply chain of coffee through the “Sustainability and Value Added in Agricultural Supply chains in Ethiopia” (SUVASE) project. SUVASE was initiated in August 2020 and has, since then, supported member farmers of 38 coffee cooperatives located in Illubabor in sustainable production and market access. In September 2022, SUVASE has launched an integrated development partnership (iDPP) with a major international coffee merchant. This cooperation goes along with an extension of the project implementation area. In addition to four districts (woredas) in Illubabor, SUVASE will now also engage in the Mana district of the Jimma zone, where the private sector partner is already sourcing coffee from. To initiate the planned activities in Mana and to support the coordination of the iDPP in close cooperation with the private sector partner´s team and other stakeholders, SUVASE is hiring a Rural Development Advisor.
