Job Summary
Under the supervision of the regional coordinator, Protection/CBPS officer will be responsible for implementing Protection, GBV/PSEA and Gender activities at bale zone lega hare woreda. The officer will monitor the day-to-day implementation of the protection project in the aforementioned area. In addition, he/she will organize and facilitate capacity-building training, community level awareness raising, and information dissemination sessions on the gender GBV/PSEA and other related activities that assigned by the supervisor in the Lega Hare and other woreda administration. Furthermore, the protection and CBPS officers will collaborate and coordinate with relevant local authorities and key stakeholders to achieve the project objectives by assisting communities.
Promote, implement and uphold the vision, mission, core values and objectives of the LWF/DWS-ET;
Deliver coordinated & integrated humanitarian interventions to reinforce delivery of impact on the ground, bringing
Lead the implementation protection gender and GBV/PSEA activities in the lega hare woreda through provision of the capacity building support for host community members and government officials.
Provide material support for CRM and PSEA working groups and committee
Provide training for staff and community structures on gender, CRM and GBV/PSEA
Support and lead the community development facilitator in day-to-day protection at project implementing area.
Participate in stakeholder meeting at woreda level and share the project update for concerned program persona and partners.

Follow all procedures set out in the LWF-ET Staff Rules, Collective Agreement and other operational manuals.

Report Writing and Documentation
Ensure proper documentation of all project activities including means of verification, assessments and case studies.
Required Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Degree in law psychology, social studies, development studies or other related field of study and years relevant experience in humanitarian sector.
Skills Required, Attitudes and Attributes:
Experience of working in a leadership position within a team structure.
Proven skills in managing staff reporting to her/him; excellent coordination skills.
Fluent written and spoken English; Knowledge of Afan Oromo is mandatory
Gender sensitivity.
Proven program & project cycle management skills - proposal and report writing skills; monitoring and evaluation skills and experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience of emergency and development issues; nexus programming and deep understanding of causes of emergencies, emergency programming and links with policy.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize well and meet deadlines.
Ability to travel extensively, especially to remote areas.
Experience in and the ability to train, coach, mentor people.
Additional requirements
Prior experience with Global Affairs Canada funding and Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.
Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Good skills in planning, monitoring and reporting.
Strong organizational and logistical skills.
Goal-oriented with ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
Ability and willingness to work and live in challenging conditions.
