Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for advanced planning of logistics provider’s capacity and volume to forecast safe &   on-time shipping;

• Responsible for setting up systematizing activities planning with contracts, export documentation, and handling communication with government authorities, shipping lines and various vendors.

• Be in charge of the company’s import permit and export license processes;

• Prepare export documents working with forwarders and other vendors;

• Categorize shipments according to a tariff coding system;

• Ensure that the shipment adheres to customs rules and regulations;

• Maintain records of goods ordered and received in purchasing system;

• Counsel clients on matters like tariffs, insurance, and quotas;

• Ensure all policies and procedures are constantly administered;

• Able to facilitate shipments crossing international borders;

• Work closely with ERCA offices when goods arrive in the facility;

• Review documents required for export to make sure goods can be exported;

• Back up to Compliance/Traffic/Procurement positions as needed;

• Actively participate and support the process within the work area on a daily basis;

• Keep senior management informed of all transaction problems or irregularities;

• Communicate with shipping agent & forwarding agent for clearance;

• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers;

• Other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Academic qualification

• BA in procurement, logistics or related fields;

Additional qualifications and skill

• Excellent understanding of information systems technology;

• Strong interpersonal communication skills 

• Must be able to multi-task;

• Good understanding of sales and marketing strategies 

• Well-developed communicational skills and a customer orientation

• Ability to easily understand and organize shipment processes

Years of experience: 5+ years of practical experience in a similar position

Salary: As per the Company Scale

Work Station: Addis Ababa
