 Dugda Construction plc invites you, the qualified candidate, to apply for the following position. 

Main Purpose

To contribute to the effectiveness of Dugda Construction by carrying our all human resource management operational tasks towards employees’ attraction, retention and successful performance. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Handles all pre-employment formalities in collaboration with HR Operation Head and other HR personnel

    • Communicates all required employment requirements for new entrants

    • Ensures all employment documentations are complete and a personal file is opened for each staff

    • Signs off on the pension form of each staff and communicates the POESSA to issue a social security card

  • Selects appropriate channel for advertising vacancies

  • Develop creative practices and programs that identify, source, assess and hire the best talent to meet changing and evolving business needs.

  • Improves the company’s working culture and environment; and ensures office layouts are conducive for assigned tasks

  • Receives HR requirement of departments and projects and ensures quality and timely supply of HR

  • Handles transfer of employees from one project/department to another when the demand arises

  • Involves in periodic HR audit

  • Reviews the attendance management system of the Company and its proper implementation across the HO, construction projects and plants

  • Handles grievance and discipline cases of employees; and issues appropriate responses in consultation with the HR Operation Head.

  • Conducts periodic salary and benefit assessments for specific or generic job positions of the Company

  • Participates in the development of a performance based systems are implemented in the Company.

  • Reviews salary information of project personnel, checks against any inconsistencies, approves payment and communicates the document to Finance department

  • Conducts exit interview for formally resigned employees; identifies key issues and prepares periodic reports for improvement areas in HR practices of the Company.

  • Coaches junior HR officers and maintains proper working environment is established in the Company

  • Ensure the proper implementations of company’s HR policies and procedures and suggest ideas for amendment.

  • Design and implement a competitive compensation system and benefit package to attract and retain staff.

  • Lead the effective and efficient administration of the performance management process to ensure that the organization’s managers are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching, and encourage staff to actively participate in identifying and addressing performance gaps

  • Direct the administration of employee benefit program ( such as Pension, insurance, canteen services, recreation, social programs and company festivals)

  • Produces certificate of service/experience for existing and/or resigned employees upon request from the concerned staff

  • Provides general inductions for newly recruited staff

Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor

  • Communicates insurance companies and brokers to ensure the Company is well covered in claim processes

  • Communicates list of new employees for inclusion into approved insurance coverage and exclusion for outgoing employees

  • Reviews utility payments (security agencies, water, telephone bills) for approval of the HR Operations Head.

  • Reviews the completeness and validity of medical documents; Reviews the medical payment certifications of employees

Job Requirements

  • Minimum B.A. degree in Management, HR, and/or Business Administration

  • At least 8 plus years of relevant HR experience and understanding of HR in emergency set-up is a desirable out of which 3 years on a senior position experience
