The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Ethiopia is looking to hire an experienced, highly motivated, and qualified person to fill the position of Supply chain Officer 1, (12 months fixed term contract) based in Nekempte.
GENERAL DUTIES
Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct.
Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times.
Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times.
Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers.
Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Responsibilities:
Processes and fulfils Nekemte Sub-delegation’s program orders according to the ICRC’s logistical and financial procedures and pre-established fulfilment guidelines.
Ensures that the priorities set by the Logistics Site Manager are followed.
Keeps customers regularly informed of the progress of their requests.
Records and files documents pertaining to the ordering process registers and forwards claims and comments to service requesters.
Update’s logistics dashboards and provides statistics.
Contributes to supply chain support for an assigned specific group of products.
May act as a statistician.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:
Records and files all documentations pertaining to the process of the order, registers and transmits customer’s claims and remarks.
Updates the logistics dashboards and provides required statistics to stakeholders, customers, and logistician.
Builds awareness related to the importance of Good Planning & Forecasting.
Report complaints to the department in charge and follow up on the method of processing orders and their source of supply
Follow up on orders being prepared with the warehouse teams.
Monitor item lead times and communicate on dead stock.
Maintain a high level of communication with Logistics and their customers.
Produce activity reports to support decisions in Supply Chain.
Maintain and Update on a weekly basis the monitoring tables implement by Supply Chain.
Upon request perform duties and tasks not covered in this Job Description to provide support for the Logistics Department in Nekemte
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The specifications on the requirements to perform the job, e.g. in terms of knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors, are set out in the corresponding role description.
University degree or technical degree with equivalent experience in logistics, administration or equivalent.
Good command of spoken and written English and Afaan oromoo language.
Computer literacy; Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of enterprise resource planning software an asset.
Ability to work in a multicultural team,
Flexible and open minded,
Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision,
Typically, three to five years’ overall professional experience.
Three years’ previous experience in administration or in a Purchasing/logistics department.
Good knowledge of supply chain processes
