Job Description
The Integrated Soil Fertility Management Project (ISFM+) is part of a Global Soil Protection and Rehabilitation Programme of the special initiative ‘’One World- No Hunger (SEWOH).’’ The project contributes to improving soil health and productivity in the Ethiopian highlands.
ISFM+ has been awarded co-funding from the European Union to introduce agroecological principles as a holistic approach to agricultural development in Ethiopia. The project is titled ProSilience and has the objective “to contribute to the climate-relevant, productive and sustainable transformation of agriculture and food systems, land management and specific value chains.

Responsibilities
Support the ProSilience Project Manager and MoA, Soil Fertility Improvement Desk (SFID) in coordinating and overseeing the successful implementation of the ProSilience project activities aiming at an agroecological transition towards sustainable agri-food systems.
Tasks
Deputize for the ProSilience Project Manager
Ensure that ProSilience and ISFM+ activities are well aligned and complementary
Plan and coordinate awareness creation activities on agroecological principles and concepts
In close coordination with ISFM+ staff, manage and coordinate ProSilience activities in 5 regions, ensuring that project activities are implemented successfully and partnerships with regional stakeholders are expanded and strengthened
Participate in ISFM+ and ProSilience review and planning workshops
Contribute to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of ProSilience and ISFM+
Coordinate and contribute to the preparation of reports, promotional and other documents, including lessons learned
Provide training of trainers on agroecological principles and approaches
Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops and knowledge sharing events and ensure high quality documentation of these events
Closely interact and work with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) as well as national and international research organisations and universities
Plan and organize multi-stakeholder workshops and meetings and ensure documentation of their outputs and action points
Follow up on the implementation of action points coming out of stakeholder consultations
Prepare appropriate presentations for relevant workshops and stakeholder meetings
Perform other assignments as required.
Job Requirements
Required qualifications, competencies, and experience
Qualifications
MSc in Agricultural Extension, Environmental Science, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development or related fields
Professional experience
At least 5 years of professional experience in the areas of soil health and fertility aspects, agroecology, participatory agricultural extension and policy, research and development, or other relevant topics.
Experience in working on institutional linkages and collaborations with the MoA and its stakeholders
Other knowledge, additional competences
Excellent English language skills, both written and oral
Proven ability to produce high-quality reports and documents, including publications
Excellent knowledge of standard computer applications, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Experience in workshop facilitation and multi-stakeholder engagements
Excellent communication and presentation skills targeting different audiences
Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under tight schedules.
