Senior Accountant  Roles and Responsibilities

·         Plan, organize, and execute financial task and projects of the organization.

·         Make estimate of funds required for the short and long term financial objectives of the organization.

·         Complete financial reports, lead the month -end closing process and conduct monthly financial forecast.

·         Assist in developing and implementing plans for budgeting forecasting and reporting.

·         Assist on strategizing on fund procurement through banks and other financial institute.

·         Assists prudently making investment on assets that maximize returns.

·         Manage and monitor metrics, KPI tracking , and reports.  

·         Would be responsible for the daily and weekly revenue reconciliation between banks and company ledger.

·         Would be responsible for monthly reconciliation of sales with Z- report and Ledger.

·         Is responsible for collecting outstanding revenues and providing reports on outstanding collections.

·         Is responsible for verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts.

·         Designs the following reports

o   Cash flow projection (Weekly)

o   Cash Outstanding Reports (Daily)

o   Merchant payables Reports (Weekly)

o   Monthly sales reconciliation reports (Monthly)

·         Is responsible for monthly Bank reconciliation

·         Assist with tax audits and tax returns

·         Plan, assign and review staff’s work

·         Support month-end and year-end close process

·         Assists in documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

·         Would be responsible for the day-to-day communication with other teams and departments.

·         Assists in other organizational activities and tasks, as assigned.

·         Reports to Chief finance officer(CFO of the company)

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• MBA/BA Degree in Accounting, Accounting and Finance or related field of study.

• A minimum of 6/7 years of relative experience or  3 years as Senior Accountant or equivalent capacities at Service Industry

• Hands-on experience on SAP and In-depth knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) and its application.

• Good knowledge of the Ethiopian Tax regulations

 Competencies:

• Preferable on knowledge of  ERP System     

• Skilled in performing accounting procedures; preparing and maintaining accurate records; compiling & preparing financial reports

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, data and draw logical conclusions and define accounting problems and recommend solutions

• Ability to organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines

• Extensive experience in preparing cash forecasts, cash flow analyses and liquidity management.

• Experience in building complex financial models to evaluate various financial plans.

• Experience in Receivables Management (Collections, dispute and credit management) desirable.
