Job Description
Chemonics International seeks experienced professionals for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program - Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project. GHSC-PSM in Ethiopia will serve as vehicle through which USAID will procure and furnish health commodities, provide technical assistance to improve the country’s management of health supply chain and pharmacy service activities, and collaborate with key international stakeholders to support global and local health initiatives.
The project is currently seeking qualified Health Programs Director for HIV/AIDS, TB, and COVID19. The Health Programs Director for HIV/AIDS, TB, and COVID-19 is the lead in improving coordination of supply chain management to effectively meet the requirements of HIV/AIDS, TB, and COVID-19 programs. The director oversees GHSC-PSM support provided to the Ministry of health (MOH), Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Service (EPSS) and other partners through technical working group meetings, task force meetings, review meetings, joint support supervision, and translation of program changes into the language of supply chain management. Moreover, the director leads the project's support to the country's HIV and TB laboratory commodity management system through development of strategy, standards, and protocol, monitoring of stock status and equipment functionality, developing efficient lab networks, and data driven optimization.
Level of Effort and Location: This position will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with intermittent travel throughout regions as needed.
Supervision: The Health Programs Director for HIV/AIDS, TB, and COVID-19 will report to the GHSC-PSM Deputy Country Director.

Job Qualifications
Advanced degree in a health-related field with specialized training and/or experience relating to pharmaceutical management with at least eight years of working experience in the field of public health.
At least three years demonstrated relevant experience in pharmaceutical management and/or health systems strengthening activities in developing country context.
Relevant experience in pharmaceutical management and systems strengthening, particularly those related to the implementation of health programs in developing countries.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with senior-level officials, particularly interacting productively, proactively, and comfortably with government agencies, NGOs, private sector groups, USAID, and donor organizations.
Excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, communication skills, training experience, ability to identify and resolve policy and operational constraints.
Self-motivated, interest and experience in managing and supervising technical staff
Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required to support the progress of program activities
Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
