Reporting to the Organizational Development and Effectiveness Director, the Staff Care & Employee Engagement Specialist is responsible to lead in the planning and delivery of staff care and well-being services to World Vision Ethiopia staff. S/he will provide advice and in the deliverance of need-based programs in areas of staff resilience, ‘Staff Well Being Education’ (SWE) programmes and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) to key stakeholders and counterparts in the national office, regional hubs and emergency response programs. In close collaboration with the Regional Staff Care Advisor, the s/he will lead in the review and development of WVE staff wellbeing policies, standards, practices and capacity building programs in alignment with World Vision Partnership minimum standards that reflect the values and vision of World Vision International. S/he will ensure that staff and line managers have easy access to staff care resources, tools and programmes for staff well-being that reduce psychological distress and improves well-being across the organization.

Strategy
Collaborate with key stakeholders (HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Expertise, Managers and Staff) in developing annual staff priorities and operational plans that prevent burnout and ensure organizational agility.
Budget for staff care activities and ensure staff wellbeing is prioritized in annual budget planning processes
Assess and monitor psycho-social needs and issues affecting the wellbeing of staff and lead in the design, development, implementation and monitoring of staff care programmes and interventions

Program Implementation
Provide advice and direction on day to day Staff Care, Well-being and Mental Health issues to internal clients
Facilitate the provision of effective and timely psycho-social services to leadership, managers and individual staff members; prioritizing hardship and extreme hardship locations in WVE operational areas.
Provide support and advice to the leadership and managers on healthy work practices and approaches to support staff and encourage resilience.
Recommend staff support strategies to managers during and emergencies, organizational change processes and other crises.
Facilitating the provision of immediate support following a traumatic incident.
Providing staff with individual and/or group counselling as needed and link staff to prepositioned external psychosocial professional networks and resources

Capacity Building
Provide OSME & CISM services to project staff in need.
In collaboration with Learning & Development (CoE) and WVI Regional Staff Care Advisor to deliver SWE/CISM trainings.
Develop, gather and distribute OSME learning and training materials
Attend online regional peer support meetings, listen for needs and themes, and provide continued education related research on stress and well-being
Explore and contribute to the development of new modalities, such as e-learning and webinars, which make awareness raising material available and attractive to all staff;
Cooperate with the Regional office to integrate subjects such as healthy work practices, managing stress and trauma, building resiliency etc. into learning strategies

Relationship Management:
Work with the Regional and Partnership Staff Care Management Team in providing staff care / OSME & CISM services.
Develop working relationships with other NGO’s, professional organizations or universities also concerned with staff care
Stay updated on current OSME and CISM research and practices taking into consideration both local and International perspectives and practices.
Collaborate with the P&C Total Rewards team and advise as needed to identify appropriate resources from external providers which can be used for physical and mental health services in WVI.
Collaborating with the Security management team to ensure that employees being deployed or travelling to hardship locations are adequately prepared and oriented
Support the development of

Employee Engagement
Provide basis statistics and trends on issues related to staff well-being, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
Reviewing Our Voice survey results and helping management create action plans based on their findings
Inform leadership on trends that may be of concern in the office requiring targeted support or Managerial intervention.
Support development of strategies to improve engagement and implement programs designed to foster it, such as employee recognition programs, wellness programs and other activities aimed at creating a positive workplace culture.
Provide guidance and support to management in ensuring and sustaining high levels of employee engagement
In collaboration with Learning & Development, providing training to employees on topics such as conflict resolution skills, time management techniques, and stress reduction techniques
Knowledge/Qualifications For the role
Required Professional Experience
At least 5+ years’ work experience in the area of relief, development or human resources
Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in delivering OSME & CISM to aid workers.
2+ years of professional experience in staff support, mental health, cross cultural communications, counselling, and related areas, preferably gained in an international develop/humanitarian sector
Experience leading/supporting employee engagement initiatives
Commitment to a Biblical understanding of providing services and support to people in need.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
University degree in counselling, clinical psychology or related mental health profession.
Additional training or certification in staff support and traumatic/critical incident stress as well as a broad range of related fields, such as, family counselling, training, stress management
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

Strong communication skills.
Proven skills in collaborating with a large group of stakeholders.
Understanding legal liabilities associated with “duty of care” and ensuring compliance with these standards.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven cultural sensitivity to communicate effectively with staff, consultants and vendors
