The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Ethiopia is looking to hire an experienced, highly motivated, and qualified person to fill the position of ICT Specialist II (1year fixed term contract), based in Nekemte.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement

• Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct

• Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement

• Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times

• Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times

• Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers

• Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC

• May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the supervision of the ICT Coordinator of ICRC Ethiopia, ICT Specialist manages and organizes all ICT systems and services in the location where s/he is posted. A non-exhaustive list of tasks is:

• Ensure planning, deployment and attribution of ICT equipment (computers, network, printers, PABX, Telecom materials, Radios, etc.)

• Ensure maintenance, service and proper handling of ICT assets in a small-to-medium sized infrastructure.

• Maintain and exploit existing systems, mainly independently.

• Manage and administrate a park of materials.

• Provide training and support to the users.

• Support Level 2 ICT Service Requests within the area of responsibility (Delegation and Sub-Delegation Offices) in collaboration with other support teams and ensure compliance of related management policies governing the Global Support Model framework.

Information Management

• Organise, support, and manages the use of collaborative tools in the SD and act as a reference person for IM related

• Follow up on business card requests and ensure that they comply with the ICRC visual identity rules

• Ensure that all new staff are briefed and/or trained on basic information management at the sub-delegation level (SD filling, IM tools, records management, use and storage of office supplies)

• Assist the management by updating the timeline, schedule, contact database and other tools.

• Acts as Site Records Manager (SRM); Support ADD AIMO with supervising departments on filing and archiving, issuing reminders, monitoring and bringing the problems to the attention of AIMO

• Coordinates with Departments in the sub-delegation to ensure that weekly Sitrep are compiled in good format and shared with the Management on time.

• Updates organizational charts and phone lists.

• In charge of sending and receiving pouches

• Maintain SD stationary distributing, keep records and reordering.

Job Requirements

• University Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field from a recognized institution.

• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar field.

• Good knowledge in computer hardware, software and networks (Windows 8.1 /10, Windows Server 2008R2/2012/2016, MS Office, Web Applications, LAN and WAN).

• Good knowledge in Telecommunications (VHF, HF, VSATs, PBX, Telephony, etc.)

• Very good language skill in English, Afan Oromo and Amharic

• Driving license with experience a big plus
