Job Description
Bread for the World (BftW) is an international development agency owned by the Protestant Churches in Germany based in Berlin and a member of the Action by Churches Together (ACT) Alliance. One of its regional offices is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia registered as an international NGO with the Authority of Civil Society Organizations. BftW works through various faith-based and secular civil society partners with whom they share similar values. The regional office works with partners in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan. The main thematic areas of BftW are (1) new poverty and hunger crises, (2) Climate Change, (3) violence, fragility, (4) women's right and empowerment, and (5) digital change. Bread for the World hereby invites qualified applicants to apply for the following position.
Project Management Assistance
Assists in preparing the program team meeting agenda, including notetaking.
Assists in developing travel schedules Assists in compiling travel security information
Assists in developing agendas for partner dialogues, roundtables, etc
Assists the program officer in any aspect of support required to be given to the program team management, such as:
Assists in the appraisal of partner's project narrative and audit report regularly,
Assists in reviewing partner's application, and proposal writing
Assists with sanction screening process and documentation
Assists in maintaining cash flow planning of projects,
Assists in the timely submission of semi-annual and final reports,
Assists in assessing and reviewing financial reports,
Assists project closure process (documentation, process project closure, closure peer review, process advance to final payment, closure submission, and attending to head office's communication).
Maintain programmatic and financial data and uploaded essential documents in the program software (Fachanwendung-FA) as well as in Regional Office electronic Cloud Station – (CS) and hard copy files (archiving),
Reviews and process fund requests in collaboration with the finance team
Assists his/her program officer in working with partners to incorporate the recommendations and action points arising from programmatic and financial assessments,
Participates in site visits as necessary and appropriate,
Assists in compiling partner's requests for capacity development
Interacts with a wide range of domestic and international partners,
Program Data Management
Create and maintain all programmatic, financial, and partner-related filing systems in FA, CS, Dinkenesh, and Hard copy.

Qualifications
Academic expertise
Bachelor's Degree in agriculture, health, social science, political science, development, environmental studies, gender studies, or other relevant degrees
Experience
Minimum of three years of relevant NGO work experience,
Experience with advocacy, population growth, safety, theology, and developmental studies, disability/differently abled persons is an additional asset.
