Job Description
Management of general ledger and all accounting activities to enable statuary financial requirement to be met
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Ensure all accounting activities are performed to the required time and quality standards
Plans organize, directs, coordinates, and control general accounting operation of the company
Implements approved accounting policies and procedures; recommends improvements in existing accounting operation system
Maintain proper books of accounts and records for the company financial and accounting transaction including accounts receivable, Account payable & general ledger
Check and certifies coding of accounts, payroll and salary-related payments, cash position reports, payment voucher, schedule of account, journal entries, and payroll & bank reconciliation
Checks and certifies replenishment of petty cash funds
· Recruit, interview, and hire new staff
Verifies that all cash and cheque payments are made as per approved policies and procedures
· Train current staff.
Verifies that proper authorization is obtained before payment is effected, checks the authenticity of documents that support payment.
· Oversee daily workflow.
Ensure the timely settlement of payable accrue from the company's transaction and undertakings, ensures taxes and fees payable by the company are paid in time
Verifies the accounting and financial transactions done conform to approved policies and procedures of the company.
Prepare interim and end year adjustments.
· Supervise the work of employees of the division.
Ensure that the financial documents and records of the company are maintained in strict confidentiality.
Prepare periodic reports on the operation of the department.
· Be an effective bridge between employees and management.
· Bachelor's, Business Administration, or related field required.
· 5+ years of experience as a finance and admin head.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Amharic and English
· Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws, regulations and accounting Principles, Practices, Standards, Laws.
· Strong leadership skill.
