Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Plan and coordinate information technology-related equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements to improve reliability/performance. Enter commands and activate controls on the computer and peripheral equipment. Resolve non-routine problems with hardware, software, or guest room internet access. Analyze, recommend, and implement process improvements. Maintain inventory of technology devices. Maintain Private Branch Exchange (PBX)/telephone switchboard systems and associated hardware. Monitor computer and telephone rooms to see whether they are locked, and access is restricted using the interrogated key system.
Follow all company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications. Verify uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests service needs. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Promote employee compliance with company standards/policies and external regulations; serve as a departmental role model or mentor. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of employees. Promote adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify and recommend new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings. Read and visually verify the information. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Enter and locate information using computers and/or Point of Sale (POS) systems. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
CRITICAL TASKS
Technical Solutions
* Coordinate directly with meeting planners, affiliates, exhibitors, and convention services manager to promote smooth execution and delivery of all Technology Solutions.
* Manager customer Information Technology requirements with resources such as; conference calls, email, and face-to-face communication.
* Prepare accurate documentation for all installation and disconnection dates, times, locations, and services.
* Document trouble calls from Exhibitors and Meeting Planners.
* Assist as needed with the installation and removal of data requirements for convention clients.
* Audit exhibit floor for client connections.
* Maintain Private Branch Exchange (PBX)/telephone switchboard systems and associated hardware.
Administration
* Handle the billing of all data and telecom installations and repair work orders and research billing and service disputes.
* Maintain a computerized inventory listing of equipment and parts.
* Perform general office duties for the Information Technology department including filing, typing, incoming call coverage, mail distribution, placing equipment orders with outside vendors, performing tie and attendance functions for the department, and maintaining office supplies for the Information Technology department.
* Monitor computer and telephone rooms to see whether they are locked and access is restricted using the interrogated key system.
Physical Security
* Educate users regarding procedures for securing Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
* Educate users regarding procedures for physical security of technological devices (e.g., personal computers, handheld devices including cellular telephones).
* Verify computer and telephone rooms are kept locked at all times and access is restricted using the interrogated key system.
* Monitor computer and telephone rooms for food, drink, and trash.
* Maintain compliance with policies regarding limiting the storage of excess materials in the computer and telephone rooms.
Guest Relations
* Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.
* Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property-specific processes (e.g., LEARN, PLEASED, Guest Response, LEAP) to resolve issues, delight, and build trust.
* Assist other employees to promote proper coverage and prompt guest service.
* Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences, and acting on them whenever possible.
* Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities, including assisting visually, hearing, or physically-impaired individuals within guidelines (e.g., escorting them when requested, using words to explain actions, writing directions on paper, moving objects out of the way, or offering access to Braille or TDD phones).
Communication
* Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional language.
* Talk with and listen to other employees to effectively exchange information.
* Provide assistance to coworkers, ensuring they understand their tasks.
* Exchange information with other employees using electronic devices (e.g., pagers and two-way radios, email).
* Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette including answering the phone within 3 rings, answering with a smile in one's voice, using the callers' name, transferring calls to appropriate person/department, requesting permission before placing the caller on hold, taking and relaying messages, and allowing the caller to end the call.
* Discuss work topics, activities, or problems with coworkers, supervisors, or managers discreetly and quietly, avoiding public areas of the property.

* Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
* Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
* Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
* Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Having the ability of teamwork, dependability, Problem Solving and Decision making, Planning and Organizing, leadership qualities, and organizational skills.
- Good command of the English language.
- Minimum Two years’ hotel experience as IT Supervisor in international and brand hotel is preferable.
- Maintain and upgrade hardware and software.
