Currently, Dereja is undertaking projects in tackling the issue of youth unemployment with various partners. Dereja is a pioneer in establishing Career Center services in Higher Education Institutions, organizing regional and national job fairs, designing and delivering employability skills training for fresh graduates as well as working on various additional interventions toward building the youth’s employability skills. Thus, IMS is looking for a Candidate Engagement and Partnership Officer who will be responsible to facilitate at grassroot level the partnership coordination and candidate engagement strategies for projects under Dereja.

Job Summary

Candidate Engagement and Partnership Officer will report to Candidate Engagement and Partnership Coordinator and will be responsible to manage mainly enrollment, engagement and retention of candidates within Dereja interventions. He/she is responsible to all the ground facilitation works to establish and maintain partnership between Info Mind Solutions/Dereja and several partner organizations. He/she will work closely with partner governmental and non-governmental organizations, higher academic institutions, social enterprises, associations and private companies.

Detailed descriptions of the responsibilities are stated as follows:

Candidate Enrolment, Engagement and Retention

  • Continuously undertake assessment on the needs, gaps, interest areas of candidates for Dereja interventions

  • Devise and initiate candidates’ enrolment, engagement and retention strategies adaptable to Dereja interventions in collaboration with team members

  • Timely ensure enrolment of the candidates to Dereja interventions and communicate the candidates’ data to data management team

  • Facilitate and manage all ground works for the services to be provided to candidates including training and career expos.

  • Closely engage and work with higher education students’ councils, career/job clubs, extracurricular activities, class representatives, graduating class committee, students’ Ambassadors and so forth

  • Ensure active engagement, continuous presence and positive influence of Dereja interventions in higher education institutions and where the targeted candidates are available

Facilitate the Partnership Management 

  • Facilitate and support to retain existing successful partnership practices with partner organizations and candidates

  • Facilitate and manage daily clerical activities provided by the coordinator to ensure functionality and effectiveness of partnership management

Team Work  

  • Responsible to align, harmonize and collaborate with all team members consisting of candidates’ engagement and partnership management 

  • Hold regular team meetings, identify routine and strategic issues, devise mitigation measures and communicate to the coordinator

  • Proactively get feedback on performance and effectiveness from both the coordinator and other Dereja management team members

Project Management

  • Prepare annual detailed candidates’ enrolment, engagement and retention plan and submit to the coordinator 

  • Develop and regularly review monthly detailed action plan for Dereja interventions in the assigned areas

  • Ensure timely implementation of the planned activities and review the results

  • Regularly review project progress along with team members weekly, monthly and quarterly

  • Prepare and submit monthly report to Candidate Engagement and Partnership Coordinator as per standard reporting template

  •  Proactively identify and monitor risks those can affect the project performance and develop mitigation measures

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • BA, in Management, Economics, Project Management, and related social fields

  • Good comprehension, facilitation, professional writing and communications skills

  • 3 years of experience in candidate engagement and management works

  • Good in problem solving, team work and management skills

  • Good in English and Amharic languages

  • Passionate about youth employment and development
