In this placement, the inspirator will give due emphasis for organizing and strengthening the actions of youth groups and women watch groups by enhancing knowledge, skills and abilities for having better operational capacities through making youth engagement in good governance and democracy, climate justice and humanitarian crises response.
Provide organizational development support to enhance effectiveness of youth led organization to address the issues of young people
Support the team in partnership and networking skills for increasing their engagement in youth forums and platforms
Prepare, develop and adapt brief guidelines, procedures and organizational policies on youth participation, gender, youth programming
Continuous support on how to craft messages and information for social media campaigning and advocating
Support the youth-led organization with the acquaintance of GRPS, good governance and public accountability issues
Facilitate training on digital literacy skills for youth groups
Support on issues of VAW, peace building and humanitarian response activities
Develop promising practices for replication among youth groups
Technical support provision for youth groups on how to institutionalization and functional entity
Prepare, develop and adapt brief guidelines, procedures and organizational policies on youth participation, gender, youth programming
Create and arrange young women/girls’ leadership exercise opportunities with internship style in public service institution
Provide mentorship for young people who have attended training at the GP
Mentor and support young people in their creative campaigning and organizing efforts at the GP youth hubs.
Support specific learning and campaign activities coordinated by ActionAid or the GP
Participate in knowledge sharing networks like the Global Inspirator Learning network
Cross-country knowledge exchange initiatives
Personal training and development through induction courses and other training opportunities
Job Requirements
Any degree graduate preferably social sciences
Three years and above experience working with youth led organizations and young people
Practical experience in coaching, mentoring and guidance skills
Knowledge on OCAT, democracy and good governance, GRPS, social accountability and climate justice
Familiar with policies and procedures of youth and climate change adaptation
Have good working exposure with youth focused government offices
Highly interested and passionate to work with young people, youth groups and youth-led organizations
Have practical experience with planning and carrying out creative campaigns
Have experience working with and for young people’s agenda
Have practical experience with doing action research
Be a facilitator by heart, and know how to remain in the back seat, supporting others to learn and achieve results
Have experience with using participatory methods
Have strong facilitation and mentoring skills
Have the ability to inspire and motivate others
Have a solid organizational network and good at making linkages
Have full working knowledge of English and other local languages
