Bethzatha Health Services PLC is looking to recruit an experienced, energetic, and committed Chief Executive Officer.

Bethzatha Health Service PLC is a Company established in July 1996 to provide health care services in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Today the company owns a General Hospital, internal Medicine specialty Center, two Advanced Medical Laboratory and a second hospital under Construction Around CMC and has created employment Opportunity for more than Four Hundred People.

HST is a knowledge company operating in Ethiopia, which provides a broad range of professional services to clients across various industries. Bethzatha Health Service PLC has engaged HST to support the recruitment for the position of Chief Executive Officer.

The Chief Executive Officer is expected to to drive sustainable value by developing and implementing effective strategy for revenue growth, operational excellence, and brand eminence and by building a strong executive leadership and organizational culture across Bethzatha Health Services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define and cascade the Company’s business vision, strategy, and business model.

  • Lead the implementation of strategy and monitor the performance of operating units.

  • Allocate financial, human, and physical resources to functions, projects, and Directorates according to their strategic priority, long-term value creation potential and importance to the Company. 

  • Develop company-wide policies and procedures and lead in their implementation and continuous review.

  • Develop and maintain key metrics and success measures, monitor, and evaluate overall Company results, identify, and mitigate strategic business risks.

  • Review past performance, lead the development and implementation of annual strategic goals, and business plan of the Company.

  • Develop company strategic plan and objectives and lead in their implementation.

  • Oversee key hiring and talent development programs.

  • Coordinate and supervise the various functional strategies and their implementation.

  • Maintain strategic relationships with clients, suppliers, partners, regulatory bodies and represent the Company in all external relations and negotiate with third parties.

  • Cultivate conducive work environment and culture that celebrates success, promotes teamwork, customer service and innovation by developing and implementing a formal culture management program.

  • Based on performance and audit reports, take appropriate and timely actions to address performance gaps or operational problems.

  • Prepare and submit periodic Company performance report to governing bodies.

  • Oversee the budgeting, reporting, and auditing processes and ensure compliance with Company financial policies and procedures.

  • Authorize/approve various expenses within his/her limit of authority. 

  • Authorize/approve opening and operation of bank accounts within authorized jurisdiction.

  • Ensure company business transactions, contracts, policies, and procedures are compliant with relevant laws and regulations of the country.

  • Lead the design and implementation of programs aimed at developing strong leadership for the Company.

  • Evaluate the periodic performance of subordinates directly reporting.

  • Manage disciplinary concerns of the executive management team.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification and Experience

  • MD in medicine, Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related fields with ten (10) years of experience of which five (5) years should be at senior management level.

  • Management experience in the health and related industry is desirable.
