Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies 1 million smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. On average, the farmers we serve harvest 50 per cent more food after working with One Acre Fund.

About the Role

You will manage the IT operations for One Acre Fund Ethiopia, reporting to the data and technology leader in the systems department. The primary function is to provide proactive and reactive IT support. Plan and carry out computer and photocopier maintenance, and oversee the network in the Bahir Dar office. contribute to the IT and business operations departments' goals.

Responsibilities

• Plan and accomplish a preventive maintenance schedule.

• Coordinate with the logistics department on IT equipment procurement.

• Check, install and train users on new IT equipment procured with standards set by our organization.

• Learn and troubleshoot fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware

• Use and maintain IT support ticketing system, facilitate tech equipment physical status dashboard

• Contribute to other department priorities through special projects related to field technology and/or data Technology.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree

• 2+ years of experience in IT-related fields

• Understand the basic principles of structured cabling and the practicalities of connecting network devices.

• Have Basic Knowledge of Laptops, Printer and Smartphone problem diagnosis and troubleshooting

• Computer formatting and software installation skills, ie how clean a computer is, how to download, install and update programs and drivers, etc.

• Good communication skills with non-technical colleagues

• Have intermediate communication skills in English
