Child Safeguarding:

Level 3: either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).

ROLE PURPOSE: The position holder will be the main focal point and the go-to person for Irish Aid project, Emergency projects’ data processing and related information.  Based in Semera, s/he will maintain the data base backups, produce reports, share information to central team, project team and follow guidance for data coders/sources. S/he will be responsible for the overall data quality assessment and provide regular feedback to FO MEAL coordinator / manager and field staff.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

· With guidance from the education project  Project Manager, support the implementation of the project demand creation activities in the location

· Closely work with key REB and other key stakeholders to develop and implement locally relevant and feasible School feeding project strategies for immunization service

·Support the design and implementation of school feeding related assessments in the project areas

·Develop/review Monitoring Checklist of program activities. Translate it into local language, if required.

·Capacity building of program staffs on project related M&E format/template/form of data collection; Output tracker (OT) and Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT).

·Organize frequent field visit to monitor program activities / interventions against Quality Benchmarks/Quality Checklists and produce & share reports to concerned program team as well as management team based on quality and accountability findings and incorporate inputs from program team in action agreed plan.

·Support program staff to strengthen joint planning and monitoring with stakeholders

·Participate in joint field visits, review meetings and planning meetings.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum First Degree / degree in development related subjects preferable Statistics, Economics.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• 3 years’ and Above relevant experience with at least two years in an NGO environment implementing MEAL activities and preferably in Development and protection related  program

• Prove supervision, mentorship and professional development to project staffs so that staffs have the required capacity and enthusiasm to undertake their responsibilities

• Ensure MEAL evidences (IPTT, project performance/action trackers, etc) are used for management decision making and continuous performance improvement and be part of the project level management team members.

• Provide overall supervision and leadership on the MEAL functions and strategy delivery at project level

• Good leadership, coordination and management experience.

• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching

•  Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

•  Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind-sets

• Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner

• Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies

• Local language is mandatory
