Job Description
Samaritan's Purse is currently embarking on recovery and resilience building project that focuses on livelihood and trauma healing for conflict affected communities in North Wollo. The project will work closely with returnees and affected communities by providing a range of integrated interventions that aim to achieve trauma healing and livelihood recovery.
The Livelihood Coordinator is responsible to support the project by technically coordinate the planning, undertake implementation, monitoring and reporting of livelihood and recovery interventions such as horticulture, gardening, poultry production, IGA, and cash assistance. The livelihood coordinator is responsible to deliver project deliverables on agriculture and economic development, household income and market assessments.
Project mainstreaming activities includes coordination of trauma healing sessions, training beneficiaries and staff on protection principles and prevention of gender-based violence, coordinate psycho-social support in conflict affected communities. The Coordinator shall also represent SP in the local clusters, and coordinate interventions with other actors to ensure appropriate responses to identified livelihood concerns or issues.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate livelihood and agriculture components of a Healing through Livelihoods Project with specific focus on horticulture, gardening, poultry production, IGA and cash assistance.
Develop partnerships and ensure effective coordination with local clusters, service providers, international organizations faith leaders, sector offices, local churches and schools to facilitate trauma healing sessions.
Community mobilization for livelihood interventions.
Facilitates planning through working with the community and key other stakeholders on key activities livelihood project.
Lead beneficiary selection and verification processes with active engagement of sector offices and communities.
Ensure all operational plan of the Livelihood project at field level are delivered as per the plan and set standard on project plan and budget
Take proactive role in project review, monitoring and evaluation; capture and share lesson points and best practices on a regular basis.
Ensure appropriate documentation of best practices, learning and communicate success stories.

Knowledge, Education & Skills Required:
MSc, or BA/Bsc Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Economics or related fields; MA or other related advanced degree is preferred.
Technical Training qualifications required: professional technical skill associated with livelihood assessment, horticulture, poultry production, is desired
Excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable participating both as an effective contributor and a listener in-group setting which include senior staff.
Knowledge of multi-sectoral approaches to mainstreaming protection.
Proficient in use of computers
Experience
Minimum of 4 years work experience in coordinating livelihood led intervention, improved agriculture, poultry management and IGA.
Direct NGO experience is highly preferred
Experience of working in humanitarian response and recovery
