Hope Enterprise University College (HEUC) is a higher education institution in Ethiopia, which is housed on five hectares of a beautiful, green and clean campus conductive for teaching-learning process and having student and faculty friendly environment. It is an accredited institution in three graduate programs namely, MBA, MSC in Accounting & Finance and MA in Organizational Leadership. It is also accredited in the following undergraduate programs: Architecture, Accounting and Finance, Management, Marketing Management, Information System, Information Technology and Computer Science

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.

• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

• Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.  Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.

•  Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers.

•  Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.

•  Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.

• Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.

• Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.

•  Conducting daily backup operations.

• Managing technical documentation

More specifically, the IT Technician shall also work towards ensuring the preventive and curative maintenance services of Desktop PC, server PC, Laptop, network infrastructure.

These include among others leading and/performing:

•  Virus and other malicious activities checking and cleaning;

• Checkup and diagnosis of window updates;

•  Check individual computers and servers for viral infections and resolve risks;

• Check and diagnosis of application updates;

• Check and diagnosis of operating systems problem (registry checking, drivers and

• service checking and diagnosing);

• Cleaning and tuning of hard disk drivers for optimal performances, remove

• software and temporary files which impair system performance;

• Check and diagnosis of any network related problems (server problem, cabling

• problem, network services problem, etc.);

• Operating system restoration (e.g., reinstallation of operating system with all other

• software, hardware replacement, etc.);

• Fixing basic mechanical problems on PCs;

• Making internal and external cleaning of desktop computers (vacuum cleaning of

• inside parts);

• Internal and external cleaning of laptops (includes CD-ROM lens cleaning,

• Keyboard, Mouse LCD, etc.);

• Cleaning of outer covers and internal parts of printers (cleaning gears, paper path

• and trays) and network equipment (switches, broadband equipment).

Job Requirements

Qualification

•  Level 4 in IT with COC Certified.

• 0 Year Experience 

• Training on cisco routing and switching

• Strong knowledge and working experience of server windows operating systems (knowledge in Linux OS is an added advantage)

• Strong knowledge of virtualization.
