Job Description

Essential Functions:

Under the close supervision of the HRD & Admin Department Manager, Senior Human Resource Officer plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls HR Management functions and administration activities of the company. She/he participates in recruitment, selection, placement, wages, remuneration and other hr activities. She/he ensures the safe and proper up-keep of records, documents, and develops systems through studies and research to broaden and enhance the overall HR policies and procedures of the company.

 Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in Planning, organizing, and controlling  the overall activities of the HR management functions;

  • Initiates and recommends new or revised Hr policies  and procedures manual;

  • Participates in reviewing  organizational structure,  staffing plan ;job analysis, job specifications, job evaluations and salary scale administration;

  • Participates in employee’s recruitment, placement, promotion, disputes, grievances, petitions ,etc;

  • Reviews manpower requests including employment, transfer, termination, promotion, salary increments and adjustments and submits to the supervisor;

  • Prepares and advertises  vacancy announcement and registering long list of applicants;

  • Proposes disciplinary actions to be taken by the supervisors as per HR policies, existing collective agreements and labor laws:

  • Prepares  various draft letters, answers enquiries related to Hr issues;

  • Participates in training programs and various events;

  • Handles various leaves as per the company’s and government laws;

  • Performs liaison duties in expediting entry and exit visas, residence and work permits for expatriate’s staff as well as obtaining exit visas and passports for Ethiopian employees.

  • Prepares ID and distributes to employee with HR Manual (employee handbook) as required;

  • Collects and compiles Employees performance appraisal reports;

  • Follows-up temporary and contract employers renewal or termination;

  • Monitors working hours though collecting and managing attendants;

  • Consolidates and submits periodic reports to HR Manager ;

  • Performs other activities as and when assigned by immediate supervisor

Job Requirements

Education level and experiences

  • BA in Human Resources Management Public Administration/Management

  • 6 years of relevant work experience
