Duties and Responsibilities

• Configuring ,  installing and testing softwares , routers, servers and other network devices

• Designing and deploying functional networks such as LAN, WLAN , MAN and WAN

• Monitoring network performance, security, and integrity

• Suggesting improvements to network capacity, performance, and scalability

• Maintaining technical documentation and mentoring team on technical issues.

• Dealing with escalated network support issues.

• Provides technical support, responds to work orders and tickets from the users, analyzes and solves reported network problems.

• Managing and mentoring junior Network Engineering staff.

• Leads the performance of day-to-day networking tasks to ensure network reliability, availability and serviceability within minimal interruption.

• Leads network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software and integration testing, as well as coordinating these activities without disturbing function of other systems.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Past experience as Network Engineer, preferably in a senior position.

•  Experience of network administration and architecture.

•  Core Network Services experience

• Knowledge of communication protocols specifically routing protocols like BGP, OSPF as well as TCP/IP

• Experience with network monitoring, diagnostics and analysis tools.

• An analytical mind with a problem-solving attitude

• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN support and engineering design for voice, data and video networks at Access, Aggregation, and Core networks.

• Thorough understanding of modern service provider TCP/IP data networks using standards and technologies including but not limited           to:  MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, STP, RSTP, etc

• Good experience in optical communication technologies and FTTH       service delivery.

• Superior knowledge, skills and experience with  routing and switching protocols.

• Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, etc.

• Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead  and as a participant in a team environment.

• Router, Switch and IP configuration experience is required

• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

• Good communication skills.

• Candidates with Certification in CCNA, CCNP  or other relevant certifications  are preferred.

Education/Experience

• MSc or BSc Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, with more than three years of directly related experience in a telecommunications service provider network. (Proven technical experience may be substituted for educational requirements.)
