ROLE PURPOSE

The Welder is under the direct supervision of the Welding Section Coordinator and is responsible for constructing and repairing of metalwork. This includes gates, walkways, roof structures, metal shelves & cabinets, guard booths, grills, handrails, sunshades, and other steel structures for school compounds and rented residences.

SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Construct, install & maintain soccer goals, security booth, basketball stand, grill, grates, handrails, pump shades, tanker stands, balustrades, aluminum and metal doors, shutters & windows, etc…

• Replace broken locks, windows, and door glasses at the school and teachers’ residences

• Assemble new desks, tables, chairs, playground equipment & shelves per the manufacturer manual for the school and teacher’s residences

• Execute regular preventative maintenance for playground equipment, security doors, gates, etc.

• Ensures all equipment, tools & machines are clean, oiled, or greased & safe for work

• Checks all doors and gates are maintained and serviced periodically

• Replace damaged transparent & iron corrugated sheets, EGA sheets, and roof skirting at the school and residences

• Operating and maintaining metal shaping and cutting machines

• Perform any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor

Job Requirement

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Diploma or (10+3) graduate in Metalwork from recognized TVET college with four (4) years of experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MIG Welding, Gas Welding, TIG welding, Cooper welding etc skills

• Understands and reads drawing

• Physically in good condition

• Knowledge of standard practices, processes, tools equipment and materials of Welding

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY: ETB 25,500.00
