TruLuv Granola is an artisanal all-natural snacks company based out of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are a dynamic female-led business started in 2016, that makes healthy snacks made with ingredients we aim to sustainably source from local smallholder farmers and that are crafted by Ethiopian women.

Our all-natural snack bars and bite size snacks are made with unique Ethiopian ingredients and flavors, like coffee, berbere, white honey and teff. TruLuv Granola contains no added sugar or artificial flavoring, and is sweetened only with Ethiopian honey.

We are at an exciting point as we continue to grow our sales within Ethiopia and work on exporting to multiple markets.

As we embark on this journey, we are looking for a passionate, energetic self-starter to join our team in the role of Sales & Marketing Manager. You will work directly with our CEO (based in Ethiopia) to take on the following responsibilities towards introducing new products to the market and developing marketing opportunities and sales strategies.

You’ll be responsible for developing strong relationships with new and existing customers. You’ll build trust. You’ll educate. You’ll represents the company’s brand and drive strategies to increase product awareness by observing the market, competitors, and industry trends. You’ll train, coach and lead the marketing and sales teams and surpass our targets.

You’ll sell our products at events, talk to suq owners, support on digital strategy and content, work with our distributor closely, partner with leaders across our business, and get to know our end-users well.

Location- Addis Ababa, regular travel within the city

Core responsibilities

  • Develop sales and marketing strategies, plans and processes as needed to support business goals

  • Promoting the company’s existing brands and introducing new products to the market.

  • Analyzing budgets, preparing annual budget plans, scheduling expenditures, and ensuring that the sales team meets their goals.

  • Researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans, understanding consumer requirements, identifying market trends, and suggesting system improvements to achieve the company’s marketing goals.

  • Manage social media presence; engage with consumers via comments/messages

  • Create a digital media strategy, create and manage content that measurably delivers value for the business.

  • Draft and post social media content for the company’s existing brands as needed

  • Gathering, investigating, and summarizing market data and trends to draft reports.

  • Implementing new sales plans and advertising.

  • Training, coaching, and managing marketing and sales teams to meet sales and marketing objectives.

  • Maintaining relationships with important clients by making regular visits, understanding their needs, and anticipating new marketing opportunities.

  • Staying current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks.

  • Actively seek out and engage customer prospects

  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships

  • Identify and attend bazaars to display, sample and sell our products

  • Visit retail /suq customer outlets regularly

  • Demonstrate and present products

  • Identify where trainings are necessary for customer team on product knowledge & shoppers’ profile

  • Present as part of internal sales & marketing meetings, management meetings, and other meetings as needed

Qualifications-

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related;

  • 3-5 years’ experience in marketing and sales;

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic;

  • Management experience;

  • Enjoy working closely with people of diverse backgrounds;

  • Good oral, written, and communication/presentation skills;

  • Strong organizational skills and time management;

  • Ability to deliver great work under pressure;

  • Creativity and ability to take initiative;

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Good knowledge of Addis Ababa/Ethiopia market and the general trade retail landscape;
